I had a goal to make a suroof that fits 4-wide cars and I do think I succeded. Now I'm going to show all of you how easy it is to make! Just follow these simple steps. And remember, if you use my design on one of your MOCs, I'd like some credit.
About this creation
How to make it.
You only need five pieces for this build plus a car to put it on. You'll need two black 1x4 bricks with grooves, two 1x2 plates with ledges, and a smooth black 2x2 tile.
First, place the plates on the bottom of the black tile. That's really all it takes to make the sunroof.
How to install it.
Place a 1x4 brick at your desired height. On a 4-wide car this will have to act as a window too, that's why you need a black one.
Set the complete sliding part in half of the assembly.
Now place the other grooved brick. Make sure the rails line up and then test to make sure it slides correctly.
When adding your roof, leave a 2x2 gap directly over the moving roof's full foward postion.
If your interior rubs on the bottom of the sunroof like mine, then you might have to remove roof tiles to slide it more easily with your finger.
