The Real Life Adventures of SigOcean Figgy Part 2: Brickworld
The Continuing adventures of mocpages greatest sigfig...
About this creation

“At long last, the day is finally here! Hi, I’m SigOcean Figgy. I was lucky enough to go to Brickworld and let me tell you, it was just about the coolest thing I’ve ever done! Not including that one time at cloud city with Lando… but I digress.” Note: that link USED to work but the moc it was linking to was deleted by the owner...

“A skyline of Chicago. This is a Chicago convention after all…”

When I said I wanted to take some time off to follow the dead, this is not exactly what I meant.”

“Hi-ho, hi-ho, we like to build LEGO.”

“The Coruscant cityscape. Phipson wishes he could build like this but finds his lack of bricks disturbing.”

“The Senate dome. I’m sure those politicians are working hard to do what’s best for the common man. I mean, that’s their job right? It’s not all about payoffs, bribes and strippers… um, I mean…”

“The Jedi Temple. Where every geek truly believes he belongs.”

“I didn’t know Futurama was filmed on Coruscant?”

“Revenge is a dish best served by a hot chick with a sword.”

“Hey, is that my ex-wife re-surfacing from the bowels of hell?”

“I wonder if there’s a spell that can reverse the eating disorders these kids are going to develop when they realize that their careers are over after the last movie is made due to type casting?”

“A real live chick! They really do exist!” This is Stacy Sterling. She and her Husband Dave are two very cool AFOL’s from Wisconsin. Stacy did most of the Harry Potter and town stuff in these pics. You guys should have seen the look I got from my wife when I took this picture…

“Sing along... In the Navy… What, this is a fishing boat? That’s not what I signed up for. Where’s the singalongs and dance numbers. Damnit, Family Guy lied!”

“I can’t believe that they actually have loan officers on hand in there.”

“Suburban America. The perfect place to put a goth record store for all the upper middle class white kids to express their teenage angst and let us know just how hard their lives really are.”

“What better place to have next to the goth record shop than white castle? Someone has the munchies.”

“This looks like a nice place to meet some welcoming individuals…”

“Of course I have been wrong before.”

“There’s bound to be some chicks around here!”

“When I told them to “Pimp My Ride, this is not exactly what I had in mind.”

“No baby, actually I’m made out of plastic… Oh you asked if I had one.”

“Nothing like hooking them when they’re young! I think I saw a LEGO cigarette machine around the corner.”

“Now THAT’S a Cityscape! But I think I see something on one of the buildings…”

“Oh no, the City’s being over run by Nannon’s Black Fantasy creatures! Run for your lives!”

“They’re gonna kill us all! This is worse than Cloverfield!”

“Oh the humanity! Oh, that’s right. I’m not human. Thank god for that! You're on your own suckers!” (Yes, those are actually Nannon’s little buggers terrorizing the buildings.)

“Hey, this one’s bigger than Kelso’s. Must be genetics.”

“Look, I’m touching movie history! No, I’m not talking about Pamela Anderson’s implants!”

This thing is gonna be in a movie. It’s being shot in Australia! Hey, can I get a ride home?”

“A real working LEGO Trebuchet! The kid in the glasses looks a little worried cause he’s going next! Then it’s my turn!”

"What did you say? Watch what? I can't hear you, there's a big tank destoying everything in it's path behind me..."

“Oh damn! That’s gonna leave a mark!”

“From right to left. The “Tank Abbot look-a-like is Brian Kescenovitz, The crosseyed and confused Mark Kelso, Me (SigOcean) with a picture of my idol, Keith Goldman, The Black Fantasy master Nannan Z and then some dork who wondered in off the street claiming to be some kind of LEGO builder.”

“No really, it is a picture of Keith Goldman. He’s just dressed up as a pirate to pick up chicks!”

“Hey wait! What are you doing? I don’t want to go with him, he looks angry… and I’m not entirely sure that his intentions are pure, if you know what I mean.”

And now, some pics that have nothing to do with Mr. Figgy.

We’ve seen pics of this blacktron set up at a lot of different conventions. In my opinion, this thing looks a lot cooler in person. You just get a better scope of the scale when it’s actually laid out on the tables.

Just another blacktron base shot.

OK, now this is just cool. This thing was about 8 feet across!

Bartok! My wife and I have a thing for bats… fill in your own joke here, I'm getting tired.

Like zoiks scoob! I think we spent too much time in the back of the mystery machine. You’re looking a little square. Ruh Roh Raggy.

The reflecting pool is just about as cool as the build itself. The builder is Arthur Gugick .

The Sears Tower. Just for a size comparison, check out the guy in the background working on one of the other buildings.

Fourth Wall commentary - Well, that’s it. Going to brickworld was cool enough but then getting to meet guys like Kelso, Brian K and Nannon, not to mention all the others… just Awesome! My only regret is that we were only there for a few hours. Nannon was there the whole weekend but the rest of us losers only made it to Sunday (A real shame being as I live 15 minutes from where the convention was being held). As for SigOcean, his adventures are only just beginning. Be sure to be on the look out for “The Real Life Adventures of SigOcean Figgy” Part 3! Coming soon to a mocpage near you…

Till next time true believers! ~ Chris.

Another female AFOL?! I knew that we existed! Is it too early to discuss a coalition of forces and an overthrow of the male Lego establishment? Too early. Ok. I'll wait for a better time. Can't wait to see the next installment of SOF's Shann-anogins. This could be like those god awful lawn trolls.. Just mail him around and take pics of him in interesting and/or disturbing places. Just a thought. I have to go now and start organizing the female legion.

hi chris. thank you for the review/s umm...can you change the caption next to my name on your homepage to something better? please reply...oh abotu the tank...mayube ill build it later IF you or someone else gets me into military stuff...anothier reason i dont wanna make a tank is bacuase fast drivers dont like police or military ppl (except for police officers with names starting with "c" and ending with "s") so its gonna take some serious inspiration for that!

You still alive? Or have they worked you to death. Just take your legos on the road and build in the squad car. I'm sure the bad guys wouldn't mind sitting in the back of the car for a few hours... it's better than jail. Not that I would know...Ok, fine there was that one time with the park ducks, plunger, and a hand grenade, but other than that...

About the "MOCies": very good idea, but I think there should be a few more categories, including Classic Space, [Crimso Giger and Mark Stafford come to mind] Dioramas, [Hebi Metaru, Crimso's Bases #3: 7 Dios, and DARKspawn's Dwarf Mine would be good nominees] and Vignettes [Goldman's Ley Ward series of vigs, my latest *had to include one where I could be nominated :D*, and Gauss Platform Orion by Joe Haddad]...let the games begin!

Thanks for sharing these pics man - they are motivating and provide some sanity as I spend 10hours a day working at the office only to come home and have to keep painting 3,000+ sq'ft of house - dang painter wanted 17k to paint house - I'll do it myself thank you very much - ramblings of an exhausted mind. Everyone, say hi to Laza. "Hi Laza..." Laza is a Legoholic and has been "dark" for a few years now. Hopefully he'll be getting an account here soon. I've known him for about 13 years or so (since my Disney on Ice days) and know he'll fit in with our disfunctional little family perfectly. ~ Chris.

Jon, as much fun as that would be I must decline for two reasons. When Ocean and I came up with the moc offs, they were a "gift" to moc pages to try to bring some sense of community to the pages and give you (the moccers) something new to have fun with. And second, I just don't have the time. I barely have any time to moc as it is and I've got two MAJOR moc projects in the works and am concentrating on those right now. This is not to say that I wouldn't be interested in the future, your challenge sounds like fun. Try my again later and hopefully I'll be able to accept. Take care ~ chris.

HAha I can't tell if in this case actions speak louder than words or if its the other way around. Well who cares, its LEGO ain't it? Oh ya, my challenge. I CHALLENGE YOU TO AN MOC BUILD-OFF. PLEASE. EACH PERSON HAS TO MAKE A SPACE FIGHTER NO LONGER THAN 30cm. For voting, other MOCers will rate the MOC, then give a 1/5 to 5/5 mark for the build-off comparison. Deadline is the 4th of july, next week. E-MAIL ME IF YOU ACCEPT OR LEAVE A REVIEW ON ONE OF MY LAME CREATIONS!

Sounds like fun. The reflecting pool is great! I know they were actually Nannan's, but who built what his were destroying? Anyways, I wish I would have been able to go. Oh, well. Oh, and I love the treb. I made a few of them, but not in that scale (these were the days before MOCpages, before I knew what the heck SNOT was, I did not color coordinate, and could not figure out how to connect fire). Anyways, glad you all had fun.

Nice coverage of Brickworld there, Chris! Feels like you've really captured the tone of the event in all it's glory! Well Kangaroo fans, Figgy's in my possession now and we're looking forward to a fun-packed week of kickin' it Hoosier style. By the time we're finished SigOcean Figgy will no doubt blend right in with all the other Indianapoliods, and maybe Figgy can even teach me a little dingo-lingo... now to work on that accent of mine!

Ocean Figgy (overexcited) - "Yay! I'm going to ride the Invisible Hand, and visit Apocalypsis Falls, and have a beer in that Skeleton bar, and --" Kelso (shifty-eyed) - "Yes, that's right... nothing sinister's going to happen to you, my little plastic friend..."
