LEGO Ambassador vignette
About this creation
This is my ambassador vignette for the LEGO Ambassador Building Challenge #1, in which we were told "We'd like each of you to build a standard 8x8 vignette that represents you and your interests within the world of LEGO building and community. Please be as creative as you can."
I took an artistic approach and focused on the theme of imagination. Following my favorite quote about the brick: "LEGO is more than a toy; when played by a creative mind it becomes a medium to channel the wonders of imagination," here is my vignette called Just Add Imagination.
The central focus of the model is the classic red 2X4 brick, symbolizing LEGO and its universality. Of course, the world of LEGO is not without people, and everyone takes part in this great hobby. The golden aura adds just a dazzle of wonder and awe to the amazing phenomenon of the brick, and the floating grey 1X1 bricks represent the endless possibilities with LEGO. Alas, I stand at the bottom of the statue and add my contributions.
An Ambassador represents the LEGO fans in general and isn't restricted to being the liaison for specific communities. Nevertheless, having been in in part nominated by MOCpages, I of course have the interests of this community in mind. After all, MOCpages is the first online LEGO community I joined.
Here's what has happened so far: I have been forwarding any comments and concerns to Sean. We've discussed MOCpages and its future directions. Sean and I are aware of the most common concerns and he is working hard to advance the website. I have offered my help, and the surest way to reach me is through email rather than through the comments system. You can reach me at mr.bley[at]gmail.com
Keep on building; I check the site daily (even though I don't get around to commenting that much)

Wow, my mouth is still opened... Brillant creation, great piece of LEGO art. I love this kind of MOCs, they are extremely inspiring because they demonstrate there's always a new way of using bricks. Great! |

Wow. It looks great. I love the whips, and how they make a star from the top. Also love the floating bricks. Great job. You know, these things are my favorite of yours, but the dark theme just kind of ruins them for me. Glad to see something cheerful from you, Nannan. Great job. |

Very nice! For a while here, I thought we had lost you to the busyness of being an ambassador, thankfully you have reassured us that that is not the case :) |

Mr Bley strikes again! Well done Nannan; this is a great sculpture. The bricks hanging on the white string is a fantastic effect. I think you've captured that spell that Lego has us all under very nicely. |

ALL HAIL THE MAGIC EIGHT STUD...No, seriously, this is really COOL. I think the floating bricks are one of my favorite aspects and the grey people, for some reason, resemble LEGO builders very well...Great Job! |

Sorry, couldn't resist. This is great Nannan! A lot of great symbolism in what you've got here. Some of the things I personally get from it and really like: the symmetry of the figures surrounding the brick (looks like studs from overhead), the builders extending outward from the center (like a flower...creativity blossoming), and the idea of them being up high when building (lifted up with the fun of building and growth that comes from creativity). Very cool! |
