This MOC is for Joe, the yellow apron wearing guy who works at the LEGO Imagination Center at the Mall Of America. He said why don't you make a MOC of Harry Potter going to the movies. So I did.
About this creation
Imagine, if you will, that it's the summer of 1998, Voldemort has been defeated, the Wizarding World is recovering and everyone is taking some well deserved relaxation. Harry and Ginny double date with Ron and Hermione. Hermione wants to show Ron some muggle entertainment before she and Ginny head back to Hogwarts. They decide to take in a bit of movie magic at the muggle cinema. First, a stop at the candy counter. "What do they do," askes Ron. "Nothing," says Harry, "you just eat them." "Weird" says Ron. He gets some chocolate that just lays there. Hermione informs the group that she has some treats from Honeydukes in the beaded purse she has tucked in her pocket.
"Here's the theatre, number 2," says Hermione, leading the way. Harry enjoys not having to lead and the company of Miss Weasley is the only thing on his mind. Ron has chocolate and thinks of little. It's a happy bunch.
I don't know what movie they went to see, but it sure isn't keeping Ron awake. Oh, well, he'll wake up when they leave for ice cream.
What a fun concept, and well excecuted! Love the Indiana Jones touch. We could take it a step farther and have a theatre packed with all sorts of characters from the movies...then have them watching a movie about a Lego builder who's building a MOC about movie characters in a theatre. (MC Escher would be proud.)
