LIU Low Altitude Sky Tank
Float peacefully through the calm skies while inflicting carnage on those below.
About this creation
LIU Low Altitude Sky Tank - LAST

It was brought to our attention that we hadn't added a military product in a while, so here we go. The Ludgonian Industrial Union is proud to present the Low Altitude Sky Tank. Float gracefully through the sky, while massacring your enemies below.

The LAST is sort of an armored hot air balloon. It uses an advanced form of thermal buoyancy to float above the battlefield. Because of its weight, the height at which it floats is limited, restricting it to low altitudes.

Air tanks on the underside and sides of the LAST hold air gathered from the atmosphere. This air is then heated. The heated air is less dense than the surrounding air causing the LAST to become buoyant. Traditionally, these small tanks would not contain enough buoyant air to lift the heavy LAST, but we've applied a few classified technologies to the equation.

The LAST can float at 50 to 100 feet, depending on the atmospheric make-up, air temperature, and humidity.

The efficiency of this form of lift is amazing, and theoretically, the LAST can stay floating for thousands of years (when its fusion cells run out of power and the air tanks can not be heated.)

Enough about that, we've wasted more than enough hot air on the lift system. We know you only care about one thing, how does kill people! Well, it has several options. The LAST is equipped with eight grenade launchers and a large anti-tank Ion Gun.

The eight grenade launchers are on each side of the cockpit. They fire anti-personnel shells that explode feet above the ground, spreading shrapnel over a radius of about 38 feet. The main gun, located on the bottom of the LAST, fires ion particles at an extreme rate of speed, effectively cutting down everything from buildings to tanks.

More of the Ion Gun and underside air tank.

The engines are only used for forward propulsion.

The pilot must constantly check the pressure gauges to insure the LAST stays afloat.

Note: On extremely hot planets with high humidity, the LAST can only float at about two or three feet, making the LAST a NAGT (No Altitude Ground Tank).

it looks nice, i just love the armament on this thing, especially the round shaped turrets with cannons, grey is a nice color, and the concept is great, but, it seems that it would have looked even better longer, otherwise, great hover tank ludgo!

ooo, greebly yet smooth. I like that. Also the idea of a massive object floating in the air by way of pressurized air and other stuff reminds me of the steam-castle in the anime film Steamboy.

Love the look of this one, Ludgy. Seems it might have some stealth applications if it just floats along...or at least until all of the grenades, cannon fire, and screaming begins. By the way, Ocean's selection of tunes is nice. I'll have to try that. I've always prefered to burn, pillage, and destroy to Disney soundtracks like Snow White, or Mary Poppins.

lol @ Crimso Giger's comment. Personally, I like to slaughter to the smooth melodies of Enya's 'Orinoco Flow'! Sail away, sail away sail away...Nice floating tank BTW!

I was wondering when the LIU military was going to start saving money by not using white paint. Maybe they can put the saved funds into fixing up the slums... or a new hot tub for your Highnesses seventh beach house. You know, whatever is the most important (beach house). ~ Chris.

Very useful. I hope it features a Mp3 player, it's more cool to make a slaughter while listening to some good music. Great job !
