About this creation
LIU Anti-Air Mech - (AAM)

The Ludgonian Industrial Union presents the newest in air defense, the Anti-Air Mech. This small mech was designed to enhance your defensive arsenal. So don't let the designers down, buy at least fifty.

Scenario: You've just invaded a planet. You've managed to get your soldiers on the ground, but you don't have complete control of the skies. Your troops are still vulnerable to air attacks. What should you do?
Choice #1: Tell your soldiers to run for their lives and retreat.

Choice #2:Deploy some AAM's with your ground troops and utterly destroy the attacking aircraft.

That's right. The AAM is more or less a portable anti-air gun. It's light and small enough to be dropped with your soldiers, yet it packs enough punch to keep enemy aircraft at bay. The AAM also has two smaller secondary guns (below the cockpit) to lay down cover fire. These guns should only be used when the anti-air guns are not needed.*1

The AAM shed a few pounds by trimming away some of its armor, leaving some gaps around the cockpit. Note the infared screen that allows the pilot to target enemy fighters.

The AAM's three barrel cannon fires thousands of explosive rounds per minute, blanketing the sky in shrapnel. No enemy fighter could approach the immediate area for several minutes.*2

The cockpit opens revealing one of our test pilots.

Notes:
*1 - We cannot stress this enough! Please do not use the secondary weapons at the same time as the anti-air guns. It's impossible to safely control them at the same time. We've already received several reports of friendly fire casualties.

*2 - No enemy fighters can enter the area, but neither can your fighters or dropships for that matter. Also, be advised, the falling shrapnel makes for a pretty deadly rain. Don't fire straight up.

i love the cockpit, but, the legs should be revised! as they are not convincing enough, they seem to move akwardly, sounds like a design flaw, i think it s easy to fix! the cannons are great tough! good job!

Why does it look like he's doing the same thing bears do in the woods? And, I'm not sure how much meat would be left on the duck after it's taken down by this thing. But if you got a whole flock of 'em with one shot... Despite the bad jokes, I really like this. The cockpit design is simple yet with a functionality that really works. Keep 'em coming your highness. ~ Chris.

Whoa... clearly your best mech yet. You experimented with some angled-panel work in the nose cone which is new to you, and the greebling and weapons are excellent as usual. Great job!

I like the hinged sections design. It keeps the Mech simple and sturdy, but without losing the interesting angles and shapes.

"OK, Men, all of you have been issued umbrellas so that you can be safe from the shrapnel our armored brothers will be spilling...USE THEM OR DIE!" OR "Dad, if we have to use these to hunt, what kind of ducks are we talking about?" Whichever you prefer.
