About this creation
The robot in the main photo is a totally original design. It wasn't on purpose, but now that it's done, it reminds me of a distant cousin to the robot from Futurama.

The remaining robots were based on some truly awesome designs I found in a Google image search. The picture is here. To whoever did these original, I have to say: these are some of the most creative and original figures in this scale+genre that I've seen in a while. They are just wonderful!

I was initially trying to match these exactly but (as always) was limited by the pieces/colors I had available. And then once they get going they take on a life of there own.

I love the robots from old sci-fi movies. Other models we've made that are not online include Gort from "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "V.I.N.C.E.N.T" from "The Black Hole".

Nicholas' Responses to Comments:
  • To Jonathan -- I'm glad someone actually likes the "wierd arms". The robots are supposed to look like the ones from the old sci-fi movies from the 1950's. Those robots had pretty weird arms themselves.

It's like a cross between Simpsons and Futurama. Iconic indeed!

The head and body of the first robots are awesome.Maybe you could improve the arms, but it's only my opinion. Overall, it's pretty good !
