Opening bonnet, boot and doors. Detailed engine and interior.
About this creation
1960's convertible in old-skool bricks. (N.B: Now broken for parts)
(Click pictures to enlarge)
Front: Bonnet power bulge and open air intake. Unfortunately the steering wheel isn't connected to front wheels as the opening bonnet prevents a shaft.
Profile: Classic 1960s cigar shape bodywork. Not one for SNOTers; studs everywhere!
Top: Simple interior; red seats, grey dashboard, handbrake and gearstick.
Rear: Monocoque construction keeps the floor as low as possible but uses a lot of black plates.
This would probably look better with newer SNOT peices but if I start buying them I won't know when to stop!
Comments, queries and criticism welcomed. Sorry if you left a comment the first time round; I've reposted everything. Thanks for viewing, Ape : )

Quoting Rusty Shaquelford
I really like this car. I'm a fan of older style MOCs made with real bricks and plates. I basically stopped buying sets when the whole "bley" disaster began, so I only have parts from the 1990s and early 2000s. MOCs like this give me so much inspiration. The stance is excellent. And I also like it because it isn't a Ferrari!
Thanks Rusty, and all the others below too : ) |

More nostalgia! The simple studs-up construction with exposed studs and the use of basic elements instead of more specialized ones gives this a classic LEGO feel. |

Very nice roadster you got there ;P
The classic style building fits thes tyle of the car and the details and such features like steering make it a perfect model, even if the car was not based on any particular. Although I must say it much reminds me of the later models of Datsun Fairlady roadsters. |

Thanks for the comment! I consider what you said to be the best compliment i've gotten yet. I do consider myself an "old skool lego maniac" (anyone remember those commercials?) and I hold the details of opening doors and detailed interiors/engines to be very important in a MOC vehicle. Your car here being a great example! |
