a replica of a desert eagle with recoil, safety catch, magasine release and slide lock.
About this creation
NEW: i have completely re-done this gun, after finally getting round to printing off a 1:1 scale picture (on paper).
I made some changes to the trigger guard, but the main change was the grip: ive made the actual pieces sit perpundicular to the rest of the gun, instead of on an angle, and used layers of pieces to get the grip shape right.
this made the gun far stronger, but i had to sacrifice my magazine release catch, instead you just pull it out (without pressing any bttons), and it stays clipped in by a black 3m connector, which is basically the same design as the (standard)UZIs
i didnt change the video, because i couldnt really be bothered, but you can see the changes from the pics.

this is my desert eagle. it is a model with a working "blowback" system, safety catch, magasine release and slide lock.
when you pull the trigger, the slide moves back and then forward again just like the recoil on a real gun. if the safety is on though, the trigger will move, but nothing else will happen
the set uses three modified pieces - 2 are in the trigger mechanism, and one is in the safety catch. i didn't want to modify normal pieces, so i took broken pieces and filed them down so that they could be used in other ways

slide lock and safety catch (safe and ready)
 
 magazine released (and shown)
 "field strip" - obviously the real one doesnt look like this during a field strip

Hey, I just recently got onto looking up lego guns and I was wondering If there are any good places (other than design by me because its gone) or certain kits To get parts. I also prefer not to use Pick a brick because of the low selection and it takes forever to find the right pieces. I am also looking for basic mechanisms and just overall beginner advice. I am 14 and am very into guns. Airsoft, nerf, lego, you name it. Everything except real guns, which don't intrigue me very much. I am also quite handy with legos, i own around $2000+ worth of lego starwars sets (which I dont want to use to make guns :) So any advice or good brick hotspots would be helpful. Thanks, Adam |

nice i like ti and i think i worked out the mech its a 9 or 7 long technic beam linked at the very top to a size 5 technic beam the 2or 3studs down from the very top there is another size 5 beam so as one goes forwards the other goes back and then you get a single action rubberband mech |

You are the god of lego weapons... the Desert Eagle is nasicly the coolest gun(pistol) of em all! and your's is just the best, love the blowback effect and the magazine is OK of course it would have been awesome with the other reloading effect but it is still cool..

that's actualy easy to make it do that. all it is is a peg moving it back when you push the trigger. |

It's really good. I would just recommend making the hanguard a bit longer. If you check a Desert Eagle photo, you'll see. Otherwise, it's good. |
