The Eagle is the combination of new technology and lessons learned from its predecessors, the Hawk Medium Dropship and the Falcon Assault Dropship. This craft is heavier than either, carrying a maximum of 19 troops. Despite being larger, the Eagle has the highest power to weight ratio of all three designs.

From the Falcon, the Eagle draws a much heavier standard armament as well as additional weapons due to its larger frame as well as a genuine tail boom and larger aft engines. From the Hawk this craft uses a longer sleeker, fuselage and cockpit leading to increased payload without significant reduction in speed.

Things which are unique to the Eagle include placement of all airbrakes on the aft engines, as well as two larger brakes resulting in a much more stable shuttlecock effect for atmospheric descent from the deploying ship (you know, the birdie used in badminton has the flared end which lets it fly in a much more stable arch). It also features larger forward engines which increase power and lift capacity. Also while drawing on the idea of the tail gun for close air support, the Eagle expands that idea by allowing larger weapons to be mounted.

The Eagle is obviously wider allowing three troops to sit side by side in each row, instead of two.

The Eagle is also longer, and when combined with increased width allows for carrying nearly twice the troops of the Hawk.

Here, the larger airbrakes are deployed, but when landing they rotate forward of the engine so as not to hit the ground.

Something the Eagle can do, that neither predecessors can, is angle its wings above horizon line to increase stability when hovering or in slow flight, as well as providing genuine sideways flight.

Instead of facing towards the center of the craft, troops now face the rear of the cargo bay, allowing more troops, without increasing time to deploy as well as being able to bring more fire to bear. The red and blue 2x1s mark the back of each row, and would be replaced with fold down seats so as not to get in the way.

Just the same as the other two dropships, the wings tilt up and the engines go vertical for landing.

This is one of the larger forward engines.

All three of my drop ships come from the same school of design, hence the bulging areas on top of the back, and wings. They’d hold stuff like sensory equipment, power generators, hydraulics etc.

This is the dual Thunder Hammer Cannon mount, you can actually see the retractable landing gear in this shot, too.

This is the back, you can see the difference between the forward and aft engines

Great job, I'm still a ways off from being able to build anything as big as the Eagle.
