The Griffon Final Version
About this creation
The origional Griffon Beast was started about a year ago as a side project. I was never quite satisfied and so last weekend I spent about six hours re-building it into a true griffon. In case you don't know a griffon is a mythical beast with the wings, head and front legs of an eagle and the body of a lion. Personally I believe this version far surpasses the origional in all aspects. Take a look for yourself and please leave comments, I always appreciate hearing from other lego enthusiasts.

Bow before the might of the Griffon

The entire body and legs were completely re-built from scratch while the head and wings had highlights added, the tail is the only completely origional segment of the first griffon beast.

Just look at how much has changed.

Now this guy REALLY has a reason to run.

The front legs of an eagle and the back legs of a lion, just as a griffon is meant to have.

Just look at the feet, they're so much better than the origional

The body has definition now. The chest is larger than the stomach, and the body is actually rounded to a degree.

From above. The yellow is really carried well throughout the body

The tail was not modified at all, I'm quite happy with it as it is.

If you ever find yourself in this guy's position don't look up. Check out the contour of the underside.

Like I said, don't look up!

Wings have more flexability. Here they are folded up as the Griffon rests.Notice how the legs are able to be bent slightly inwards or outwards with the new click and pivot hinges.

Laying on it's stomach the Griffon plays with it's food.

Back legs in the laying down position.

Absolutely Beautifull!!! I'm very satisfied with the turn out of The Griffon.

Look closely at the forearm/foreleg. I don't even know how to explain how I managed to switch the stud direction.

Look I actually used those strange Aquazone pipes in the forearm.
