After almost a month of building, I've created a 14-wide replica of the FC3S RX-7, made from 1989-1992. In case you didn't know, this was the special edition RX-7 at the time. This version is also referred to as the "Savanna RX-7". My model is a slightly customized version of the real thing. I put a lot of time into this, so I hope you all enjoy it. Please comment!
About this creation
Here is A picture of a stock RX-7 FC3S. Remember that minor details are different on my model because it is a custom version.
Front 3/4 shot of the car. Looks just like the real thing if you ask me. But I'll leave the judging up to you.
Front view with headlights opened. Also notice the driving lights and turn signals below.
Hood opened to reveal the original Wankel Rotory-Engine with some aftermarket tweaks. The stock 1.3 liter motor in the FC3S produced about 220hp.
Here's a view of the side. I really think I got the shape just right!
Side shot number two.
The doors open like a Koenigsegg. First they pull out, then they swing upward. I acomplished this by simply mounting the doors on a sliding axle.
The back. It was pretty hard to get the right design. I had to redo the back three times already to get this final look.
The inside of the trunk. Sorry, no subwoofer, neon, crackerjack nonsense back here. I guess the owner of this car likes room for his groceries.
The interior. Notice the nitrous oxide tank with a hose leading to the engine.
All open, including the headlights.
Next to a 1/64 FC3S. And yes, the little car is supposed to look beaten up. It's one of those "For Sale" models you can find almost anywhere.

Easily recognizable, and no doubt one of my top favorite cars<3
Probably the ONLY lego RX7 FC model I've ever seen in a large scale and very much a good model. As you said even if it is slightly "tuned" I still find it spot on to its actual counter-part. Only complaints I'd have are as I think someone mentioned below was the design of the door and as you had said the rear looks a litttle rough, never the less impressive model of a rotary engine'd car. |

It's FC3, not FC3S. The only people who call it that are ignorant, or have never looked at their VIN. |

I really like this RX7! You did a great job on making the body (not an easy car to replicate). You paid good attention to detail like in the engine bay, and the interior.
This is a great model!! Good work. Keep building! |

This is incredible! I think this is one of the best large scale cars I have seen. I have to ask, does it have steering or suspension? I can never get it to work on my models. |

Nice built which resembles the real car very well - except the rear screen. The whole rear profile seems a bit too "flat". Detailing is elaborate & on a fitting level, the doors work perfect...however, they are tooo edgy & thick. You might build it less square. A good design to work on... Cheers, Jens |

A magnificant entry into the big cars club, I hope this is where you stay! This would probably be faster than Apple's as it doesn't have any subwoofer nonsense adding weight, but it does need inner wheel arches to stop luggage/shopping/dogs being liquidised in the boot. Well done : ) |

Awesome!! Very realistic, the shape is captured perfectly. It really has a rotary engine though!?! How many CARS actually have rotaries? Not many... Any way, great moc! Peace - Patrick |
