Miles Of Smiles
Some of my sculpture's from the 1980's.
About this creation

Back in the early 1980's I was interested in making art with bricks. I stuck all these finger puppets on a plate and really liked the way they looked. So many smiles. I have some sort of thing for repetition in art. Here's what they look like all by themselves. The blue are the boys and the red are the girls. I kept this intact and it's been a decoration in my house for all of these years. Currently it sits under the tv.

At that same time I was fooling around with shapes and colors. Trying to make some abstract art. My girlfriend at the time really liked it. So I gave it to her. She kept it on her desk for years. She glommed onto the yellow space guy and eventually he got stuck to the block. More pieces were added and this is how he ended up. When she passed away I saved it. It sits on my pc to this day.

Quoting Ryan Degener I like the name, it's catchy. If you wanted to, could you take the space man off the block thingy, or is he permanently stuck?
It isn't stuck, other than in my head and heart. I like it staying as it is. As I said it still sits on my pc. see ya. garth

Those little plastic people were so cute... My sister (born in 73) gave to me some of them when I was young, but as Shannon, I may have lost them now... Very cute piece of art !!!

I have a thing for art like this as well...it doesn't have to make any sense at all...in fact, that's the whole fun of it. A great concept mate, I'm in love with it ;) C ya~ElNickre

Something of an achievement to amass this little army in the days before Cracklink. I remember having Lego people like that back in the late 70s, early 80s. They had long thin multi-hinged arms that looked like hoses. I must have lost them at some point because I don't have them now. Of course I was only five in 1980, so you must be REALLY ANCIENT!!! Way to grow old without growing up!
