About this creation
After Cyprus, I was dying to make another diorama, some kind of factory. I also knew I needed to include an assembly lie of some kind. Originally the factory was going to produce the tanks from Alpine Vehicle Bay, but I realized the tanks were too large to fit with the scale of the layout. So I rearranged the pieces, and made a little gauss gun. YaY!!!
Heres step one, where imported blocks of dektanium( The material used to make the cannons) are carried into the Molding Chamber. Inside the Molding Chamber, the metal is heated to excess of 1500 degrees, and molded into the turret's frame. Excess heat is release through the red-hot vents along the side of the building.
Next, the control chamber, already assembled, is lowered onto the frame, and welded into place.
That building you saw in picture three is called The System,. This building is where most of the humans that are on-site work. They use countless video monitors and control banks to monitor and operate The almost completely autonomous robotic workers. The monument-like building behind The System is The Transistor, a giant radio transmitter that carries signals from The System to the robot workers.
Next, the frame reaches turret assembly, where a little mini assembly line is going on. Two crates containing the turret parts are airlifted into place, and robot welders put them together. Then a crane lifts it onto the frame, and more welders secure it.
Finally, the completed cannons roll down the ramp into storage, where they will remain until they are purchased. Bye Guys, we'll see you later!

It's a bit sparse in places and could use a central element to add focus to the piece (like a tall, central control tower), but all the details you used are very good. |
