Lego reproduction of the Georgia Tech tradition of stealing the "T" from TECH Tower. This one takes place at Bricksburg Technological University or BTU.
About this creation
This is a Lego reproduction of an actual college tradition. At Georgia Tech, in Atlanta, GA, the letters atop TECH Tower are never truely safe. This is despite advanced security systems, all designed to prevent the theft of one "T". If you would like to read more about the Georgia Tech tradtion, here is a good reference page:

Now, our story takes place at the Bricksburg Technological University campus, affectionately known as BTU. BTU's students are Engineering types, who study hard, and play hard. Sometimes, they come up with ideas that are a bit on the crazy side. Still, it starts as a peaceful evening at BTU...

Bricksburg Technological University, sitting in the beautiful downtown area. It's a lovely evening for a stroll, or just some studying.

The BTU Quad is a popular place for students to gather, read, play ball and just hang out. Its a relaxing place, if you don't mind the rumbling of a frieght train or two passing by. Watch out kids!

But what is this? A group of students whispering to each other secretively. And one of them has a rope!

They walk suspiciously across the Quad. This group seems to be determined to do something.

They try not to call attention to themselves by sneaking along the track side of the college. Still there is something about strutting Beatles style that stands out.

"Ok guys, fan out, the target's in sight... and stop looking so guilty!" the leader whispers, harshly.

Janis pulls duty as the first belay man, as Bill mounts the rope.

Brian has been working out for weeks to get in shape for the climb. "Come on, Bill, hold that rope tighter!"

Kip starts to climb, then wonders how he got himself into this. A crowd is gathering below them.

Finally at the top, Valerie reaches up to unbolt the "T". "Dang, its welded in."

Tony pulls up in the getaway car. Al comes out of the crowd, and Janis comes over to help him unfurl the net!

"Why don't you just shout my name in front of everyone, Alfred?" Valerie gives the "T" a twist and it breaks off. She's got it in her hand! "Look out below!!"

The "T" lands safelty in the net. Hey, they might just be able to pull this off. The crowd oooooohs, then gives a smattering of applause.

Valerie and Kip look at the scene below. The crowd is murmuring something. "Guess we had better repel back down?"

The crowd gets excited now. They start screaming "Jump! Jump!". Someone had better call security!

No need! That "T" was on an alarm. Here come the police.

Al rushes to get the "T" into the getaway car, while Janis struggles with the net. Faster Janis, they're right behind you!

Tony takes off just as Al gets in his seat. Too late, there are two squad cars blocking thier escape. I guess they'll just have to drive over the grass.

Janis gets taken down by Officer Smith, who always gets her man, except this time, its a woman.

Time for the city fire department to come by, and bring these kids down safely--with the ladder engine.

Bill finds the ladder to be an easier climb than the rope.

But wait, has the "T" gotten away? Tony drives down the boulevard like a maniac, the squad cars in hot pursuit!

Too bad the trolley decided to jump the track. The town had always meant to put up bumpers there. The trucker decides to forgive Tony and Al for cutting him off like that, since they saved him from getting a nice dent in his rig.

"Ok there little lady, nice and slow, I got ya. I hear they just caught your boyfriend, too. I guess its all over now."

"Hands on the car, and don't move!," yells officer Burdell. "Crazy kids. Trying to steal the "T". You know how much damage you've caused?"

Brian is the last to arrive on the ground. Why did he agree to this stunt? This won't look good on his transcript.

The firefighters return the "T" to its rightful place.

And another exciting evening comes to an end at Bricksburg Tech.
