Fish Monster
About this creation
Captain Pete never backed away from a challenge, but admittedly had thought that "Fish Monster Bay" was just another one of those over-dramatisations he'd come to expect from 16th Century maps

This is the first of a short series of pirate themed bignettes I plan to build while doing my mecha bay (yes I am back on track)

Hey, now that Crimso mentions it, this reminds me of a Terry Gilliam movie, too! Like those absurd cartoons in between Monty Python sketches.

Your rising out of the water effect is done well, I like the individuality of each pirate also.

What a great monster! He really caught my eye on the home page line-up of new posts. I love the use of the plant pieces to make him more organic and less blocky, and the teeth are just perfect. The dwarf beard looks good on the pirate, too.

Now THAT is cool. It goes nicely with the China Olympics, though I doubt you meant it that way. =)

This is really cool! I like that you used old and new minifig parts to make the pirates look more genuine.

"Eww Captain, that smells! Couldn't you take care of that before we left port?" "It wasn't me." (all three slowly turn around) "Oh f%#k." This is awesome my friend. When I look at it I keep hearing that line from Monty Python in my head "Ohhh fishy fishy fishy fish." Gimme more! ~ Chris.

The monster is funny... The whole scene reminds me of a Terry Gilliam movie ... Very good !

Besides being a great build, I love the comic factor of the unrippled water, suggesting the fish monster slowly rose to the surface, jaws agape, calmly waiting for the pirates..."Arrr matey!"
