Minifig scale P-47 Thunderbolt. I'd like to add landing gear, modify the propeller, get some tubing for the machine guns in the wings and devise more accurate bombs, but overall I'm happy with the shape and proportions. Also, this is my first real MOC in 20 years.
**Update** I added landing gear and modified the propeller. It looks a lot cooler sitting on the shelf now. Still hoping LEGO makes the perfect canopy some day, but overall I'm happy with the results.

Pretty good, but the wings could use a tune-up. |

Very nice! Great color scheme and I like the drop tank and rockets (though it could do with more rockets). I'd like to see you build the P-38 and F-4U you mentioned. Maybe a P-61 like mine? Great work, keep it up! Peace - Patrick |

I updated the prop and added some landing gear. I've included a couple more pics, too -- I think the side view shows a pretty accurate shape.
I'd still like to change the machine guns and use tubing instead but I'm having a hard time finding some. Anyone know the part # for black tubing? Or a link to it on BrickLink? |

not bad but the propeller and the canopy stink !The overall shape is not so good. I prefer my P-47 and some others on Brickshelf's.
Need some work for 5 stars rating... |

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I'll be working a little bit on the P-47 after I'm finished putting the finishing touches on Hall of Bricks, a new LEGO community website I'm developing. Hall of Bricks is not 100% finished yet, but you can see it in progress at hallofbricks.com. It's meant to be a starting point, a kind of portal to the best LEGO-related content on the web. Anyway, when I'm done with that I plan to modify the P-47. I'll add the landing gear, modify the propeller, etc. I'm thinking for the next MOC I'll do a P-38 Lightning or an F4U Corsair. Votes? Anyway, thanks again for the awesome feedback! |

Very nice, and a great color scheming! Good shape, too. Just adapt the propeller and as you said, maybe add landing gear and it´s gonna be perfect! Steffen |

This is really good...considering its your first moc you have built in 20 years....the only thing i would defianately change is the prop rotor....other then that its awsome...not too many people build good thunderbolts but i think yours is top notch....great work!------David |

For a first creation in a while, you certainly did a great job. As well, you thoroughly captured the P-47 in LEGO form. The stripes (signifying invasion force) are what really impresses me. Bravo dude, hope to see more! |

Ruud Stam, I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but model means model of something. Meaning if that is a model of P-47 Thunderbolt, it shoould look like a P-47 Thunderbolt. Nice MOC by the way.

this would be an awesome model if it weren't for the prop. otherwise, good recognisation value and nice design overall. but the prop sorta kills it. |
