A sleek and deadly starfighter with a vertical saucer design.
About this creation
The Nasal Avenger comes under attack by the Adaloids in their Piranha Fighters.
A trio of Piranhas zooming in space.
The Piranha Fighter is a sleek and deadly starfighter used by many star systems. The Piranha's vertical saucer design was inspired by Mark Sandlin's "Neverwhere," although the Piranha is considerably smaller. However, as starfighters go, the Piranha packs a good punch with it's huge single laser cannon and various missiles in wing-mounted pods. The Piranha also offers an ingenious cloaking system that masks the ship from sensors and radar, but still can be seen with visible light. The Piranha typically carries one pilot but can be modified (often by bounty hunters who enjoy the cloaking feature) to carry an additional passenger or prisoner.
The black version was actually the first one I made. Although the gray one is easier to photograph, I like the black one the best because it looks really slick and shiny.
Landing gear down. Note that the front gear uses a single click hinge. As a result, the gear is easier to retract on this one but also collapses sometimes.
