When I discovered that the LEGO UCS Darth Maul's head is hollow (ah, what a great metaphor for the emptiness of pursuing selfish gain) I thought... I bet you could fit stuff in there.
At first, this was going to be a base, or a moderately priced sith mansion. But then I realized that we know so little about the sith. Where do they come from? What do they do on days they're not out trying to take over the galaxy? Where do they shop?!
Actually, I just like bad puns.
so here ya go: The Darth Mall...
(edit: for those who may not quite get the joke... it's supposed to be a modification of the UCS Maul bust...)

On the top level, Darth Brooks tries out a new hat in the "Evil Gap" (is that an oxymoron?). One floor down, a pet store; currently offering a variety of spiders, frogs, and an amazon parrot whose vocabulary would make a Gammorean blush.

Ha, I remember finding this back in 2008. Wonder why i never commented. Anyways this MOC is still hilarious with its puns as it was back then. Jokes aside, what a great use for the Darth Maul bust set and congrats on MOTD. |

This is so awesome! I thought you made a bust of DM with a mini moc of his ship, which by itself would have been MOTD stuff... but no, you took that and went all "next level" on us. This is just so creative. All you need is the deathstar and you'd have work and play for the Darkside. Great build and MOTD. ~cheers |

HA! This moc opens up many jokes and puns so easily. Perhaps this Maul mall is a floating structure in space, "20 lightyears straight, then take a right at Death Star, currently under construction, and 7 lightyears straight. Thanks! The part that took the longest was just building the normal bust while allowing it to be hinged on the sides. Once that was done, the rest came together pretty quickly. I have no idea in hours, though - :) |

Extremely funny. The lightsaber on display is one of my favorite parts, but it's a hard choice. You ought to build a pun-filled sith city. After seeing this, I built something similar... and then forgot to post it. I posted it tonight though, so check it out! |

I ran across this a year ago when I discovered MOCpages and I still luagh at its amazing punny genious. You did a great job on the whole design, I love this MOC I really do. Great use of the oficial bust to create an original and amusing design. If LEGO ever comes out with a Darth Vader bust could you do something similar with that? |
