About this creation
DTM
DTM – the magical three letters stood for “Deutsche Tourenwagen-Meisterschaft” (German Touring Car Championship) in former times. Today they are the trademark of Europe‘s most popular touring car race series, which began in 1984 with production based cars and peaked in 1996 with a worldwide series for high-tech touring cars. After a three year break, the DTM celebrated a successful comeback in the year 2000 with a ground breaking concept. Today it is considered as the “Top Class” of touring cars and is one of Europe’s largest sporting events.
Opel Calibra
The Opel Calibra (badged as a Vauxhall in the UK, Holden in Australia and New Zealand and Chevrolet in South America) was launched in 1989, a front-wheel drive coupé based around the running gear of the Opel Vectra A, (Cavalier under the Vauxhall name), but with a different rear suspension, which had been launched the year before.
The Calibra, styled by the American head of GM design Europe, Wayne Cherry (retired), is considered by some the most stylish Vauxhall/Opel ever, but being based on the Vectra chassis its ride and handling were not significantly better than that of the family car from which it grew. It was, however, the most aerodynamically efficient Opel ever Template. It remained the most aerodynamic mass production car for the next 10 years, until the Honda Insight was launched in 1999.
Calibra DTM
The Opel Calibra has featured in many racing series/events around the world, the highest level however would most probably be the DTM (or Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft) championship. The Calibra was fitted with an all wheel drive Naturally Aspirated V6 engine.
Manuel Reuter won the 1996 DTM championship in the Joest Racing Calibra. Klaus Ludwig finished 3rd in the 1994 DTM season in the Team Rosberg Calibra.

I like the engine and the safety bars but i don't get why the trunk opens? It's an racecar and they don't need any Xtra room?
Would you check out my Le Mans race car? |

Hi Firas,
very nice. And a good choice to make an older style car from the glory years, however, there is one (major) con.... you should have made an Alfa 155 V6 TI instead. If you do that, then I will forgove you....;) |

In case you wanted know holden used to make car bodies for Chevy (i think) in south Australia near wear i live but that factory is gone and has moved some wear else in the state. they cars for chevy from the 40's-50's till they became a company in 1956 and made there first car the Holden FJ now days they make the Commodore and others. they also make Americas Chevy G8 the make them here and ship them out to the US so there's a brief history of holden. go to www.holden.com.au to have a look at there cars maybe you could make one and i think the shipped cars out to Europe for opel |

Fantastic work, I think you are the best car builder on MOCpages, you have really great cars, I think this and the GT500 are my favorites. I tryed building cars, too. Look at my DB 9 (other Lego creations folder), but it isn´t so big like your ones, it is 4wide and not nearly so good like your cars, but I gave my best with the bricks I hadn´t used for Star-Wars, so can you comment on it, please. P.S.:Alies? |

By the way, thanks a lot for your help with the photo upload, it worked! You may check it on our page. Sorry for letting you wait, I hadn't much time the last weeks... Cheers & peace, Jens |

I'm doin' fine on it right now, but I may have some trouble with the wheel suspension, which I haven't started. If I do, I'll post it as a work in progress and get your prognosis, Doctor Firas. And I'm so ready for your post. If this MOC's any indication, [it is] you're going to wow me. And the rest of MOCpages. |

This is the first car on MOCpages in ages which has stopped me in my tracks. I remember these, though they're Vauxhalls where I live, up against the Mercs and Alfas- brilliant racing. I honestly can't write how good this is. I think this may be the best LEGO car I've ever seen, even compared to the ones made by the pros with a million bricks. Thanks for making my day! Congratulations on a fantastic creation : ) |
