Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann translates into "Heaven Piercing Gurren Lagann." (Heaven as in universe, not the Holy one.)
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is the biggest mecha in animation history! With a colossal size of over 10 billion lightyears in height, he can crush any evil force that threatens humanity! Of course no mech can start out that big, so I described his growth in the descripion. I didn't describe the story or named characters, because I don't want to spoil the greatest, most epic show EVER!!!! (as if that can describe it! We need a better word than epic!) I strongly suggest you watch it even if you aren't a fan of anime. This isn't like DBZ or Naruto(which i both like still)where they'll spend like three f***ing episodes talking instead of fighting! Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is able to explain everything within a matter of minutes, and then they get to the most epic fight scenes ever! The companies like Aniplex and Gaimax(I think that's it.) really put detail after detail in the fights to make them beyond epic!
About this creation
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Actually starts
out as a small ganmen (classification of the mechs)
called "Lagann." Lagann is about the size of a human adult.
Lagann later is forced to combine with a ganmen larger than
10 times the size of itself. This ganmen is called "Gurren."
When Gurren and Lagann combine, they create "Gurren Lagann."
He is the ganmen used the most during the show, but not the coolest.
Later on, Gurren Lagann is forced to combine with a ship
that is being used to evacuate a small portion of
humanity out of Earth before the moon crashes.
This ship is called the "Arc Gurren." Gurren
Lagann and Arch Gurren combined make "Arc Gurren Lagann,"
a very large ganmen that would probably be larger
than Mt. Everest. *Spoiler Alert*
After finding out that the moon is actually
a ganmen disguised as the moon, while the
real one is in an interdimentional void,
the heroes decide to send Gurren Lagann out
to take control of the ganmen moon and form a
ship called "Cathederal Terra" which is, of course,
the size of the moon. Later on in the show,
the Cathederal Terra is sinking into a space sea.
After escaping, an ambush attacks the ship,
forcing our heroes to have Gurren Lagann
combine with Cathederal Terra which formed
"Chouginga Gurren Lagann!" Chouginga Gurren Lagann
is about the size of a small planet! Chouginga Gurren Lagann
is used to eliminate the ambush. Finally,
at the final episode, every ganmen is combined
along with a S***load of fighting spirit
to create the massive, the powerful--
You guessed it!
"TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN!!!!"
My teacher always said that nothing
can be faster than the speed of light,
but Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
can move billions of lightyears with one step.
Because he would move his foot about the same speed as ours,
he can move billions of lightyears in less than one second!!!
I Forgot to mention that Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
is bigger than a galaxy, and that he not only survived a
Big Bang explosion, he turned it into raw energy!
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann can seriously f*** up
time and space due to the fact that he punched an enemy
through time and space as only Arc Gurren Lagann who is
only about the size of Mt. Everest! Imagine Doing the same thing,
only about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times bigger than before!!!!!!
(I couldn't think of the name of the number so I just put a lot of zeros. I'm not sure if the number is big enough to describe it, so I'll just decide on saying guglplex! Why didn't I think of that before typing all of those zeros?)
The show has a lot to do with fighting spirit.
Infact, the ganmen can't move without it.
Here's a series of the show's very epic and inspirational quotes:
-"Go beyond impossible, and kick reason to the curb!"
-"Who H*** do you think I am?!" or "Who the H*** do you think we are?!"
-"Whether it be time, space, or alternate realities, they mean nothing to us.
We will pierce the path and methods you have chosen! That is who we are,
The Dai-Gurren Brigade!"
(This one was said when they escaped an alternate universe trap)
-"My drill is the one that will pierce through the heavens!"
-"We will drill a hole through the Universe as a path for those to follow!"
Now onto the moc:
Giga Drill: (This Giga Drill is part of an old RC car thing I used to have, and sadly it isn't LEGO®, but it was the only choice because the Rock Raiders Drills aren't near big enough to be the Giga Drill.)

Shows how the Giga Drill can attatch:

I just watched the show a few weeks ago (in 2 days straight!) and then I stumbled upon this moc. Let me just say that Gurren Lagaan is the BEST anime out there, and this moc of the Tengen Toppa mech is an amazing tribute to how great the show really is. Outstanding job. |

epic...this is awesome. just so you know, its Gainax. Neon Genesis Evangelion is also from Gainax, it explains the epic and confusing parts. they seem to make some of the greatest anime... but this is probably one of the greatest MOCs I have seen for a mecha from an anime, good job. |

I'm relatively new to the scene but I've seen most of tengen toppa gurran lagann (most of first series and last episode) and I have to say it's amazing, so awe inspiring that no words can describe it. I hope to see the finished product. Travis |

PHONG! What's up buddy! Long time no see eh? I know it's been awhile (and I guess I should've told you sooner) I recently had surgery and have been recovering for some time now! But now I'm back and I have I few new idea I can't wait to test! By the way, while I was recovering, I stumbled across Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann myself, it's now THE COOLEST anime I've EVER seen! HANDS DOWN! It also inspired me for a long-term project (I wanna try and make a full scale replica of Yoko's Sniper rifle) I just gotta get the parts together. Anyways, just lettin' ya know that I'm back and will be posting some new stuff soon! Later man! -Carlo |

I just realized that I was the first person to rate this. Well, it's still rediculously awsome. Great job on the entire setup. the only thing i might change would be the eyes. (these one's look more like headlights than menacing. Although, if i was a deer...) anyways, great job, and I finally posted a new moc (as well as fixed some of of my overly dark pictures) |

its beautiful ^_^and i have some i suggestions; make it fatter so that the side veiw dosent look like a red and black line, and make the thin middle part a little longer. you can prolly fit the rest of the face in there that way, and have it be more accurate.
other than that, its totally awesome. id ask for directions but i dont have enough red parts like that to build it. ^_^
ps, yes, the goblin mecha is mine so.ittl be my personal one till i make a better one. |

True, true. It's just that you've actually found that one style that sets you apart from others. I remember a long while back when you kinda had a collective group mixed with Halo and other variety MOCs. Though once you found out how great the mech style worked for you, the popularity level went through the roof! That gets me thinking though, I really need to find that one style that really does it for me, ya know, a staple, something that'll get me on someone else's
"fave builders list". Now's a better time than any...hmm..... |

I saw the 3 first episodes and they were, suprisingly enough, cool and good.
But I havent seen all the episodes so in one way I shouldnt really say anything but in another way,ive read the main story.
Everything except its so big(Its a mech made of metal METAL!!! it cant be that big...)is good.
The size is overkill and childish.Everything else is awesome as ive seen so far.
Ill see some more later.
Catch ya later~Shadow |

Glorius Shadow: The plot is amazing! I just didn't type the plot out rather than the growth cycle. You are the only person who has seen Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann but don't like it that I know of. It's anything but childish. I think you say that because you don't like anime perhaps. You continue saying that a large mech make a bad story, but it doesn't! You know how hard it is to make a good story to go along with such a big mech?! It takes great effort, and the creators of the show did an awesome job. Maybe you haven't watched it after all. |
