This was a Civil War Battlefield I made to take with me to BrickWorld 2008. It's not based on any particular battle, but I mixed different elements from a few different ones. See if you can find any familiar faces!
And for those wondering, the lighting in the building is a LifeLites kit.

It's a cool creation, and I like the amount of detail and minifigures you put in here, but it doesn't have the unorganized chaotic madness that most Civil War battles had. |

This is amazing! Epic! I love the masses of soldiers--you really get the feel down. I love the Zouaves as well. (And do I see Lee, Armistead, and perhaps...Sherman? Or is it Grant?) |

That's awesome man! I could never afford so much Lego Civil War like you have. I have some Lego Civil War soldiers of my own.Confederate-15 Union-10. I have a fort. But yours is just amazing. Now days yours that must cost at least $500-600. |

haha thx cool. ive started making mine, (only about 6 guys deep haha) but anyway gotta start somewhere. u can check some of them out if u want on me profile. BTW WHERE DID U GET ALL THE UNION LEGO BRAND BODIES?!?!? i looked on bricklink and it was like 5 bucks for 2 of em. idk.
I bought the majority of them off of BrickLink back when they were more plentiful and slightly cheaper. Those parts are around 15 years old now, and Wild West only lasted 2 years, so the supply on the market is limited. And since they are soldiers, you can expect a lot of people buying them to build armies, which puts a further strain on supply. But not many people use them in their MOCs, and what is the fun in buying them if you aren't going to use them?

dude love the scene here. ive been learning about the civil war and have been wanting to have some civil war legos of my own. just one question, where do u get all the ideas for the uniforms? like i get the red capped yankees are a different division and stuff, but some have like red pants? just a question as to what all the different uniforms mean exactly. thx
Thanks for the feedback. Good luck with building your army, should you go the route of Civil War. I get the different uniform designs from the pages of history and the certain regiments they were representative of. I use reference pics of re-enactors and toy soldiers to have something to work off of. Not everything was just blue and gray. The yanks with red caps also have red pants, which is very representative of the Zouaves. The confederates that have the white pants are the Louisiana Tigers. And the reason why you'll see more variety in the Confederate uniforms is because during the war, the Confederacy didn't have enough cash to make every uniform in gray. Butternut was a common stand-in, and in this case I used tan. But basically, it all pretty much boils down to research.
By the way, I made my MOC larger, and if you're interested you can check out the updated version here:

Very, very nice! You have captured the chaos of a Civil War battlefield very well. I see you were reading Theodore Rex at the time, great book. (I was a history major myself) |

Ever read the book "The Red Badge of Courage"?
You might want to, it's about the Civil War with the 304th regiment. The protagonist is Henry Flemming, a made up person, that is! |
