Variations on a Theme -- Cyborg Race-Ship "Object Definition"
Black Fantasy Variation on a Theme Cyborg Race-ship
About this creation
Three themes in one! Nannan Z is the creator of Black Fantasy, Uspez Morbo is the creator of Variations on a Theme, and Shannon Ocean is the creator of cyborg race-ships. Since it is part cyborg racer, it is named after a song, which is from the soundtrack to one of my favorite TV shows. I can’t link to it because I don’t think this song is anywhere on the internet, but if you really want to hear it, you can send an E-mail to scyallarus at yahoo dot com (make sure to write something in the subject line so I know it's not spam), and I’ll try to get back to you with an mp3. Of course, you can also request it in a comment. Anyways, because it is part Variation, it can only be made of two colors, and being part Black Fantasy, those two colors are narrowed down to one (i.e. black). The backstory goes something like this: Object Definition was a relatively advanced cyborg racer partly due to the use of VOAT cockpit technology. One day a long time ago, it was infected with the Black Fantasy virus (I think that’s how it works) and was transformed into its present form. I know that’s not much of a backstory, but it seems like that’s how it would have happened. By the way, I used Photoshop to make the pictures brighter. There are still a few annoying shadows in some of the pictures (mostly the main photo), but I'm new at this.

Front view. Black Fantasy is a theme of evil biomechanical horrors that have come to wipe out humanity. Black Fantasy MOCs are built only out of black pieces, except for one body part (usually the eye), which is trans-neon orange. They may also be accompanied by a creepy poem (however, I’m not going to write one for this).

Side view. A Variation on a Theme, also called a VOAT for short, is a MOC that uses the Blacktron II bubble style cockpit and is built out of only two colors (not including the color of the three canopy pieces that make said cockpit). The more obscure colors you use, the better.

Rear view. Cyborg race-ships are machines that participate in races through space. Rather than having a seperate human pilot, a cyborg race-ship is controlled by a person who is permanently surgically attached to it, so there is no difference between the pilot and the machine. They are supposed to be named after a song.

Kind of a top view. After being taken over by Black Fantasy, Object Definition’s original engines have been replaced by a high-performance, yet mysterious, propulsion system. Not even the best scientists and engineers have figured out how it works (to be honest, I was too lazy to build engines on it).

The pilot, if you could call it that. Entirely corrupted by Black Fantasy, there is no trace left of its former human self.

It may look simple from the outside, but there are some interesting building techniques going on inside of it.

Here is the main photo before Photoshopping for comparison.

Hey Nate, look at the last comment I posted on Shannon's religion page. I know I'm Sho Fukamachi, one of the guys who is for Christianity, (and still will if need be.) but I just posted a comment on the page that has absolutely no relevance what-so-ever to our little debate! Go ahead and read it.

About your review: I wish I could fit a helmet on him, too; but the technic roll cage wouldn't allow it, it's too tight. Can't wait for you're MOCtag, what do ya got in store for us?

Arf, I've missed this clever and beautiful MOC ! The mix of the three themes is interesting and very well done. The overall shape is sweet and looks great. What I love the best is how you've used the Mars Mission UFO parts, great idea. Keep on the great work and thanks for your comment !

The front view does not do this one justice. The side view really shows how creative this craft is. The shape and your choice of trans red for the cockpit and black fro the body really works.

Pretty sweet. I like alot how you have incorporated the black fantasy theme and the cyborg race-ship theme together- it came out very nice.

Whoa, such a great collision of 3 themes! I thought Ocean was pushing it with his BF/VOAT! The smaller size definitely suits the Cyborg theme (not to mention the awesome pilot) and the hull is very interestingly built. You just inspired me to make another of my own.

Someone needs to get off the BF crack, because it's addicting. (By the way, I'm HAWK3YE™ *using real name now) I may have to try something in that theme, because I feel like I'm bein' left out.

I love the use of saucer halves in this model. The struts holding the wings seem a bit spindly, though it's only a minor complaint. Great job.

Great build. The photos look good for a first attempt. Personally, I like the shadows you left in the main picture. Looking at your main photo, it seems like the room lighting, not the photoshop technique is part of the issue. Maybe if you have more natural light or if you put lights at different levels you'll have less shadows to deal with later (dont put all the lights directly above the model) 5/5
