The police are always finding Batman's handy work hanging around the city. Who's got a ladder?
About this creation
Our local group, TwinLUG is getting a display table at FALLCON, the Twin Cities big comic convention. We are encouraging lug members to make something comic related. I had some Batman minifigs but what to make.
I pondered over the week end and monday morning I lay in bed. I wasn't sleepy but it was still to early to get up and have breakfast. It was nice and warm, under the covers, mooshed up against my pillow. Good place to think. And sure enough, it hit me. What I built is pretty much what I saw in my head, which was pretty much a stick figure on top of a block. I did sketch some shapes and window and door placements while I was at work.
I wanted to use the dark blay as much as possible. I think it's a nice color for buildings. I didn't want to add much color but still wanted something to pop near the top of the building. You see that in some older buildings, a bit of color near the roof. Usually not so yellow.
I think it's a good iconic build for a non-brick crowd. I wanted to leave it the studs exposed as a contrast to all the SNOT work that will also be on show. That and it's hard to make a round corner with tiles. Sometimes studs are just fine and they add a nice bit to texture to the window lintils and door entrance.
Wow! I love all the detail on the building. Don't let your boss find out that you're sketching lego buildings at work. I have a couple of suggestions. I think all the shudders should be the same color. I also think you should either make all the figs yellow or flesh colored. Man that building has incredible detail.
A kind of departure from your usual style, in term of color at least. One of the most unusual Batman MOC I've seen ! The building is beautiful, I think Tim Burton would love this MOC !
PS so you think to your MOCs at work ? haha you're right ;)
