Did you see any action... Did you make any friends... Would you like some affection... Before I leave again
About this creation
Sorry, just a teaser... like a movie trailer that shows all the best scenes in the film. This latest incarnation of Shannonia will be exhibited to the public at BrickCon '08, Saturday and Sunday, October 4-5 in newly NBA-less Seattle, Washington. (Kids, if you're in the area and you haven't already, start begging your parents to take you now!) Fear not, all the new stuff will be highlighted in agonizing detail at some point after the Con (don't hold your breath -- there are approximately nine thousand three hundred new landmarks for me to invent witty captions for). This is just to let all the poor schlubs who can't make it know what they're missing, and to give the lucky few who will be there something to look forward to.
It's all here:
The spectacular waterfall...
The scenic river...
The lovely lakes district...
The not so lovely housing tract...
The maybe even less lovely mall and big box stores...
The repetitive skyscrapers and city buildings...
And this stuff over here!
Bugsy says: "I'm only four and a half months old, but even I know that Shannonia is the greatest thing since chasing a string!"
If you only go to one Lego fest in America this year, make it BrickCon '08! If you've already done Brickworld or Brickfair instead... well, I hope you can live with your choice. Don't wait up, I'm off to BrickCon!
Congrats on MOTD. I've seen this before, many times, but like with each really GOOD MOC, each time you look at it you notice something interesting, like the purple light sabers as elevators, 1x2 with groove used as balcony pieces on a tower, and last buyt certainly not least, the Arch d'Bricklink on the Tile Avenue
I L-O-V-E it, it is so original and awesome. The cool thing about it is that it the design is so small and it can not be that easily smashed compared to other big sets. My question is were do get all your lego pieces?
It's insane how simple some things are and still look so good! Like the trees (1 cone-brick!) and the mountains. Don't know if the expo also is a contest but you make a very good change. I've never seen anything like it. But there's somthing i've found out, it is more difficult to make existing buildings then fantasy ones! Keep using your bricks like that, and good luck at the expo.
OMG ... that is stunning ! ... but why stop at a meer continent, when you can rule the world (Lol) ... seriously, you should build a HUGE revolving GLOBE with Shannonia stretching from Sea to shining Sea ! ... go for it Shannon, i know you can do it. :)
Wouldn't it suck if you were carrying that outside, and fell and dropped it? Wait, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that...hope to see another expansion!
I like it

Hey Shannon, this is great, I can't wait for the full page, I have a couple questions for you, first, could you come and review my microcity, Blocktropolis? It would mean a lot to me. And second, I was wondering if I could use the design of your sunset hotel in my city, please respond.
whoa! shannonia is growing rapidly! its great you added some more nature in this instalment and the river is great. Only one question remains: when Shannonia is at it's lifes end, WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THAT PLETHORA OF GREEN CONES?
Gah! Your's just keeps coming, and I've run outta plates to put Woodville on. I'll have to make an Ebay order after Christmas me thinks. Anyways, wow. The mountain paths and the lakes were brilliant, and the new skyscrapers are excellent too - Callum
well its amazing.I can't go to brickcon,(it would be amazing to feel this baby in my hands,I wanted to see t in real life forever...)its too bad,I live in a family of 11,(one moved out but that still leaves 8 kids)and I probably couldn't go....anyway,say hi to bugsy for me!....it seems every lego builder has a cat....must being the essentials.....
Wow, you cat looks just like mine. Gawd, I wish I could go to the con and see this and the other displays, [especially RAMM] but I live in FL. If I build a W4RTH0GG for my MOC-off round 3 and throw the match, I wonder if he'll go to the convention and take me a few pics. That or buy my air-fair. ~Will
AHH!! CATZILLA STRIKES AGAIN!! Not even the proud Shannie can save the depressing civilians of Shannonia! It's like the episode of Invader Zim, "Hamstergeddon," where a genetically alerted (and thus huge) hamster rampages the city, and all the citizens are too stupefied by its cuteness to even think of hurting it. I speculate THIS will happen to Shannonia and its awesomely made mountains and tract house addition and all the rest of the new buildings. Yep :)
Thank you, Mr. Young, for that breathtaking teaser! Hopefully UNLIKE the movie trailers that show all the good scenes, you won't make us wallow in our poor schlubbage for a year and a half before releasing the MOC to audiences everywhere. Meanwhile, I'll be keeping an eye on Flickr, BB, and other such sites for more shots from the Con of that sweet, sweet Shantropolis. Looking SHANTASTIC!!
Oh no, not again! This shows that you're just as good at building mountains and rivers as you are with microscale buildings. Awesome work, and I look forward to whatever clever captions you'll invent this time.
I wish I could make it to some Lego fest, but I can't see that happening anytime soon so I guess that'll have to wait until I can drive.
I think Shannonia is probably going to keep on expanding until it eats up your entire collection, either that or meets with an unfortunate acident.....
Sweet weeping Jeebus...not again! I'll hold back on humor and a full review until the witty captions are up and running. Make sure you post a note to visitors at the Con telling them to not drool on the glass. Yours brickly, Nick
