About this creation
MocOlympics Round Two is here. I was selected to build something I would have never dreamed of building . . . a cyborg racer!
Beware MOCers, there's a new horror in town.
He's a creature that crawls in search of blood . . .
To terrorize your neighborhood . . .
And though you fight to stay alive . . .
Your body starts to shiver . . .
For no mortal can resist . . .
The evil of . . . the Thriller!
Ah yes. Have a seat son, and allow me to tell you a story. There's one racer among the stars that stands above all others. . . he's a brave one driven by courage, or determination, or even hatred, nobody can tell. If you want to be racer yourself someday . . . I'll give you a fair warning now. The Thriller shows no mercy!
Raised in the big cities of Earth, Jackson Michaels experienced discrimination from the moment that he took his first step into the world. Sure, he was a "freak of nature" zombie on the outside, but he was like every other normal boy in his heart. The childish name calling at schools nearly warped young Michaels out of his right mind! He spiraled down the path of hatred and solitude, as he began to transform his nature. One day, he did not return home. He was not seen at school. After two decades of absence, Michaels struck the asteroid fields in a totally new, hip racer. The brave athlete is nothing short of legend, for his determination, strength, and will continue to propel him onward! Why did he risk everything to become a cyborg racer? Did he wish to prove that he was not worthless? Many questions still remain to be answered; will we ever know Michaels' true motivation? Only time will tell. . .
Not only was Jackson Michaels the first zombie to be sent into space, he has now broken the record for "most awards earned in a row". For seven decades now, he's brought home the "least hygienic racer" award. I mean, just look at it! It's crawling with space ants! He has brought many stars to shame with his skill on the "track", and continues to win the gold with every victory. Will the streak ever break? "The Thriller" has not met a successor yet!
Alright, now for some photos.
I originally only photographed the MOC in front of a red backdrop, but I decided to snap some of it on good old white, too. They turn out MUCH better on white, as you might be able to tell! The red was to make it a little "spicier".

"The Thriller" is no slick beauty. It surprisingly seems to host some sort of tentacled parasite. Perhaps that's what's kept it in one piece for so long!

Well, I'm working on getting some music up here, but I'm having some technical difficulties at the moment.
The admirable Stacy Sterling has brought on a pressure-packed battle! May the best man/woman win!
That's all for now. Thank you, and good night!

Well, a bit late, but I think this would have beat my so-called cyborg racers. Nothing to be ashamed of here. Greatt looking build even if you only have 10,000 pieces to play with. |

Thank you so much everybody. Your support and kind compliments really mean a lot. It was a blast while it lasted, yet there is always a time to retire. Now, on to a bright future, and perhaps a 2009 MocOlympics. Thanks for the opportunity, Chris. ~Nick |

You and Stacy both put in some AMAZING work here. It was too close to call for me (that's why I got the judges...). But hey, if you gotta be beaten, there's no one nicer that you could have lost to. Hold your head high cause NO shame here. ~ Chris. |

The complexity of this racer rocks Nick and you chose a classic tune to name it after. Big points to you for both. I love the parasite angle in your back story and it fits this MOC well. I'm so glad I didn't have to judge this round. Nice work! |

Ha! Just like I planned it…to close to call, so come late to the party and the other judges have already done all the work! ;-) Great build, Nick…I hate to see you go out on a MOC as nice as this but that Stacy is a beast! (Figuratively speaking of course…) |

This was one of the closest match-ups yet, but I'm giving Stacy my vote as well. You both went with a scary/creepy racer which made it even harder to decide, but in the end, I really loved Stacy's pod encased in bones. Your entry was awesome and I have no doubt you would have beaten almost anyone else. Sorry to send you home with my vote, you had a great contest. |

I know this is a match but I would have to hang my self in shame if I would give any of you guys less than 5/5. Awesome creation mate, I just love the messiness of your racer, I can only wish to be able to build this good someday... :) |

I usually write seperate comments for each entry, but this time it'll be the same for both competitors. So, to both of you...FANTASTIC ENTRIES!!! You both followed the rules, came up with great back stories (and songs!). Both creations were really unique and really well executed. Just top notch work from both of you. BUT...I've got to make a descision here...and I've decided to go with Stacy. It came down to simply that immediate reaction when first looking at the MOC's. Nick's took me a little longer to figure out and to get into (but boy, once I did it was great!). So now I leave it up to our other esteemed judges to determine the final winner. Usually it's good luck to the contestents...this time it's good luck to the judges!!!! |

Whoa... I don't think I've ever seen this level of detail on a cyborg racer before. It's hard for a spaceship to look like a post-Apoc vehicle, but you managed to translate a lot of the standard design elements onto this ship. Nice work. |

Ah, my favourite category: cyborg racers! Dude, I hope you realise how awesome this is! A zombie racer my God. You just made it to the top of my favourites list (so long Kelso...)Seriosly, I love this. And I really like the effect of having a red background, although the photos didn't quite turn out, the red is very cool. Best of luck! |
