Rock Crawlin' Bug
RC Rock Crawler. In the shape of a VW Bug.
About this creation
From Behind. Big V6 engine with twin exaust. I tried a v8 but it didn't look right.

In the back two Xl motors drives the 4x4 through a 2-speed transmision. The small motor changes gears(slow and slower)

In the front the batteries are stored and two small motors control the steering and the front and rear difflocks.

Overview. All in all four remote controled functions: Driving, steering, shifting gears and locking and unlocking the diffs.

Underside view.

Front difflock.

Rear difflock. I had mounted a chainbelt on the engine but it apparently has fallen of.

Real 3-link suspension. No girly wishbones here.

A closer look at the front 3-link.

And also a closer look at the rear.

The 3-link suspension enables 80 degrees of articulation. And can absorb a 10" drop.

Quoting Nick Nacks 43 Very, very, very, very nice.boy I wish I Could build like you, excellent.quick Question - in what country do you live? Thanks.
Denmark - birth place of LEGO. (Actually the classic 4 by 2 brick is an English patent. But it was bought by LEGO and made an unprecidented succes.)

Its nice and big, but it seems to have some low ground clearance. The normal u joints cant handle te torque of these big wheels either, so they can break. Still a very beautiful model.
