MocOlympics Round 2 - Sven Junga vs. Shannon Ocean
About this creation

So here is my first short story. I have to admit I had no idea in the beginning, but then I decided to build a story about the MOCOlympics, I was surprised no one did that before. The judges wanted to see some blood, here it is. The title of my story:

Nightmare before MOCOlympics

The impact of the asteroid was on October 11th at 11.59pm EST and destroyed nearly all life on earth, but there were still some lego-freaks left. The MocOlympics turned into the "Postapocalympics" after that.

Maybe this end was a little to dark, so here is an alternate ending of the story:

Bruce Willis was sent to destroy the asteroid. In this moment he's working on the asteroid with his "heavy drilling unit":

He succeeded as usual!
Of course I won the MocOlympics, became one of the world's most famous MOC-builders, won all the other following MOC- and Legoawards, got lots of money and tons of legos!

... but it ended like all the other famous people, alcohol, drugs and early death!!!

So, thats the end of the story. I hope you enjoyed it.

Before you take a look at Shannon's story, here some outtakes and additional pictures:

Eco friendly. Pfta! Darn Aussies and their economy. We Americans know that this planet will last us forever, no reason to be kind to it! No wonder he lost! Jokes aside, great job, man. I do think the presentation did lack a bit, but the build was pretty good. Excellent work, and good luck with round 3!

Every set piece in this story would ordinarily deserve its own page as a creation. The story itself is well-written and funny. I haven't seen Ocean's yet, but he's in for some tough competition.

Geeze Sven, what an outstanding story, outstanding MOCs... That´s so great!!! The boats are awesome MOCs themselves, without all the backround - so futuristic - awesome built! And the hilarious duel with Ocean in the Indian Ocean, the very funny and cliché representation of German bars:):):):):):) Congrats Sven - this is one of the coolest storylines I´ve seen here on MOC.pages. Awesome build with a great story. The boats were really well done and the concept of making the whole moc basically "Smack Talk" was genius. Congrats on moving on! ~ Chris.

Wow, Sven! What can I say? A hilarious story and awesome MOCs to go with it? How can I not give you the win? Congrats! I do agree with the other judges in that the presentation was not quite as clean as Shannon’s, but in my opinion, it was more an issue of lighting and exposure than actual composition. Aside from that nitpick, everything else was outstanding. It was like a summer action blockbuster film…not especially deep or meaningful, but so much damn fun that you don’t really care…you just keep rollin’ and don’t look back! Bravo, Sven…welcome to the elite eight!

The splash of water effect from the machine gun rounds entering the water alongside Ocean's eco-maran is great. And some nice boats, too.

Wow, it's another tough vote. While I agree with most of what Kelso says, I think I'm going to give you my vote. You had some outstanding builds (the boats were awesome). I guess it's left up to Brian.

If I were a judge you'd get my vote :) I thought all of your builds were way better, detailed much better, and your story was way way more funny :)

Wow, really well done! The bar scene is quite nice with all of the great details, LOVE the boats, and a clever story with some fun humor as well. I'd have to say you've got Shannon beat on the construction aspect of the competition. I felt like Shan edged you out, though on the story, and particularly presentation (which can have a major impact when story-telling). I think a few more shots with things like close-ups, over-head views, below-eye-level views, etc. would've really enhanced the presentation. We could all look at Alex Eylar's work too, to see how lighting can create mood. So anyway, I've giving my nod to Shan. But you've done a great job, and we'll have to see how the others view this category. Your MOC's terrific, and you may still pull this one out. Great job!
