968 FINAL MagLev post (for a while) WITH VIDEO!
Video of my working MagLev monorail
About this creation
This is our first video with a brand-new camera and also our very first post to YouTube. I uploaded it using highest-quality assuming they would optimize it, but it is pausing to rebuffer every few seconds for me. If you experience this problem, just hit pause until most of it buffers. I'll try to figure out what I'm doing wrong and re-upload the video soon. And if there are any YouTuber's with tips, please DO leave comments! :)

It can't really be that difficult to make the track bend. You just need the old bendable lego tubes (http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/9816/1208546404_THUMB.jpg) and attach the magnets to it. I'm the beginning of making my own maglev track, and it's going really well. Of course the train then needs turnable stabilizers (the grey bricks under the train) but that can't be a big problem.

Nicely done! I think I'll build one as well!! It looks like you used 3/16 inch cube neodymium magnets, correct? NEVER mind!! if I had read before I asked I would have know you answered that here http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/75894 thanks kurt

Quoting DJimBo Legoist I still think this is one of the coolest things you can do with lego. I don't have the money for it so... I won't do it...:( but I can't wait to see the next maglev train of you with curves.
Thanks so much! I haven't spent much time on this since the original, so I haven't done the curved track yet, but my son and I built a new moon base for some old Classic Space sets I recently purchased. I put the original MagLev track on it (I had torn everything down in the interim). I'm planning on adding a second non-levitating (yet curved) monorail, based on an old design of mine. This train will be self-powered. After that, perhaps I'll tackle melding all the features together into one system. Levitating + curves is *incredibly* difficult though! :) A lot harder than just getting the straight section to work.

Excellent i really love it!! Have you ever thought about making it move on its own? maybe use another magnet move the MagLev along the track. having the magnet be connected to some sort of gear or motor. if you ever read this e-mail me at: honsou.chaos.warsmith@gmail.com

Great idea! I say you should take this to the next level and use propellers on more magnets and a larger base!

That's a really cool technology! I think I do like it better whey you split the gray pieces on bottom and put two in the front, two in the back. I also like the buildings on either side of the track! Supreme job, and nice explanation in the video!
