Megas, from the tv show Megas XLR. Well what can I say, I love Megas, and he kicks butt.
XLR stands for eXtra Large Robot. He's very different from your normal, floaty, big wing kind of giant mech and has a very unique fighting style...
His signature move however, the firey energy sword thing.
But let's look at that different fighting style... (You might want to scroll down and play the video for the theme song from the show.)
VROOM!!!
"YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!"
CRUNCH! SMASH! SMASH! SMASH!
CRUNCH! KRACHA! ZZZ-ZZ-ZZZT!
"YEAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!" SMASH! SMASH!
VROOM! VROOM! CREAK! CRASH!
And that's how Megas does business.

Megas stands straight at 9 inches tall, it's 8.5 inches to the head, but the wings add a half inch.
Seriously, every single part of Megas went through at least 5 different versions before I picked the finished results... This is what I did instead of building a plane for my "whateverscape." but if i did build the plane it would've been scandelous to have that many plane entries, so thanks Megas.
The head is supposed to be a microscale vintage red convertable with a black roof. A robot with a car for a head? Wasn't that show amazing.
Devil horns from Megas. Rock On!

And so now I leave you with the musical stylings of Deathwish IX. Please comment, and remember: You dig giant robots!
I dig giant robots!
We dig giant robots!
Chicks! dig giant robots!
wonderful! this is the best lego creation from megas xlr I have ever seen!!!! i love megas xlr and the car as head in the serie is a plymouth hemi cuda from 1970. and how do you have all that blue briks???? and do you have instructions????
Hey man i love your pictures, because i was able to make one like yours, acully exally like yours and i can it is awsome, lot better than the i made oh 5 years ago, well i love
I just laughed like hel-l at your show!! :D very impressive my friend! the use of the minifig's legs as a hands for your mech is just too smart.. as well as the usage of the cars wheels .. by the way i die to get this color to build my Impreza but i can't find any set has a useful blue pieces :( any way great MOC, keep on this great level >>> peace.. Fofo
Okay everyone!, Megas stands at 9 inches to the top of the wings and 8.5 inches to the top of the head, so if somebody wanted to make vilanous creatures that's the scale :) ... Gundam, I know gundam, i love gundam, and I'm having a while at trying to find english TTGL episodes, but i saw a clip and the opening sequence, it moves fast, looks good, and there's a big boob chick with a red bikini top, so ... i have my hopes up that it's awesome
Must say it, quite very impressive making a mech as Megas XLR. I used to watch all the episodes of the series, and were very good. Must say that you have don a quite good job! 5ers! :O =P
I just can't keep away from this thing. I have a question though, more or less how tall is it? Like if someone was going to make some of the other mecha/villanous creatures, how big would they need to be in order to be scale with him?
1vn, have you ever seen TTGL?! It throws Gundam to the toilet! I am absolutely sure that TTGL will blow Gundam and your mind away! Both of you watch it! You'll understand what I mean. As a Gundam fan, I have seen both sides, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is DEFINATELY the better show, and mech. How can a Gundam compare to a mech that is 10 Billion Lightyears(no exaggeration) tall?!?!?!?!?! 1vn and Andrew, I seriously reccomend you watch it.
As much as I dug Megas XLR, I must introduce you to the greatest, most Epic, GAR, Insanely amazingly awesome mecha anime(Or just best show ever!) in the universe and beyond...."Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann!!!!"
Seriously, you have got to watch it. I stayed up all day/night watching all 27 eps because I was hooked by it's epicness--2 times! Unlike most animes, TTGL has no super long talk scenes, BUT the creators did go through every, single bit of detail to make every battle scene as amazingly epic as our minds can take before exploding! Not to mention that TTGL becomes the size of a galaxy in the last episode! Now read part 2 of this long comment:
No show in history; not even Megas XLR can even come close to being as good as TTGL! Seriously, don't let the dumps on physics lure you away. Go beyond impossible, and kick reason to the curb!" ~TTGL quote
Just watch the entire series! It's too great to miss! Now if you excuse me; I'm gonna watch it for a 3rd time! ~Phong Chang
Awesome. Excellent job. You've really captured the heart of Megas. He looks like he has some great articulation (more than I could ever get in my model). Loving the detail, too. Nice work.
Dude, I loved that show! Major props for building Megas. Interestingly enough, I thought back to the show today when I had a Philly cheese steak for lunch.
Dude, I had totally forgotten about this show until I saw the moc. Then I was like, oh yeah, I love that show, I remember the episode where...... Thanks for the flashback. Now to go search youtube for episodes.......
The preview you sent me looked nice, but this looks even better. I love the job the arms. Actually everything looks perfect. Keep it bricky dude, keep it bricky...~Joris
This does bring back memories: I remember the episode where they had to fight a sattelite eating monster and they had to use the emp torpedo, but Coop took it out and replaced it with a mini fridge filled with pop rocks and soda! good times! goooooood tiiiiiiimes!
