a surrealist sculpture
About this creation
Our minds have traveled to strange places and back, and unlike our fettered bodies, there’s nothing to hold back the wild wanderings of our thoughts, our imagination… our dreams. The mind has been to places where the body can never reach, and it has seen what the eyes can never see. You can disagree with everything else that I will say, but this, surely you must concur.
The legacy of vision, it is something that forever changes us. It makes us more human yet less so at the same time. It is a vision that haunts us from the moment it exists to the moment we don’t. Imagine, having seen a glimpse of a part of your own mind in which you never would have thought was yours, and to have seen the horrors that unveiled such darkness of your imagination, it is a vision truly terrifying, one that distorts your perception of the world, one in which I have come to call the cry of dreams.
Most of us, we are blissfully ignorant beings. We use the word “happy” to describe ourselves, or even “content,” and at the worst “apathetic,” for that’s when we just go through life from day to day, neither desiring nor regretting. Others of us are melancholy, for we desire the unattainable which we have not and regret that burden which we seem to always have. You who are mired in such sadness, you are the one in which I am more interested in, for you are the most susceptible to witnessing the vision- the vision that will forever change you, haunt you, and define you.
Those who have been affected by the vision, they are known to be crippled by insanity yet tortured by conscience. In this waking nightmare they will say things to you that will make no sense, as in the very words that you are reading. And yet, they will have seen something in which you have never seen in your life. They know more, at the sacrifice of reason. Ultimate knowledge, therefore, is not obtained without the cost of one’s sanity.
To recover from the madness, many have chosen to forgo their lives instead, for they longed for that state of innocence and ignorance, so much that they would rather accept oblivion as their best alternative. The rest of us battle, and through our persistence and endurance we continue to suffer. We are awake when the night is darkest; we are alone in the places most crowded. We are transformed by the vision… we are its legacy.
See- how many stars are there in the sky tonight? Though you may see only a few, we see thousands. We are awake when the night is darkest; we are alone in the places most crowded.
Ages wane and the years grind by; we have dreamed for countless days and nights while the rest lived their lives. We have silently lingered through our quiet miseries, suffering from the metamorphosis of our minds. Who will we become? We will become more human, and at the same time less. You will find us when you see the vision, and then you will suffer and finally understand.

This one has a peculiar theme to it, reminds the forgotten city of Pnakotus in Australia's western deserts. Beautiful creation, I can really see and feel some of the underlying feeling within the sculpture. I think my favorite part is the two minifigs worshiping their god on the bottom left of the title pic; I form sinister meanings that relate to my own life. I cannot wait to see the complete trilogy. |

Are you saying that you've been affected by this vision? Because you're right, what you're saying doesn't make sense, and it confused me. As for the build, it's excellent as usual for you. Being a purist, I don't care for the Brickarms stuff, though. |

You know what the first thing I said when I saw this was? Uh oh, someone get some clean pants ready! Your creations are simply amazing, but they scare as well. I could say two things about this: 'Wow, this is a great sculpture!' Or 'This is terrifying and deranged!' As it is, I cannot choose between them. So i'll say this. Inspiring - Callum |
