Siege Engines
For attacking strongholds and castles...
About this creation
My brother and I wanted to build a fantasy diorama, but there are so few medieval siege dioramas I wanted to make the diorama a siege, and that meant we had to build some siege engines, or weapons.
I built a Siege ram and a Siege tower, while my brother came up with two mantlets.
They all turned out pretty good.

First up is my siege ram, I didn't put a ram head on, though...

The top opens, more for playability than anything else.

The 'ram' does swing but it isn't rubber band armed.

The over all design isn't all that exiting, but compared to the pictures I have seen it is accurate.

I put handles (for the minifigs) on the back of the 'Battering ram'.

Minifigs also can use the ram itself.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My brother's mantlets.

Here you can see that they really aren't identical.

The front flaps open.

This picture shows the two different types of pieces for...holding it up.

The soldiers have a safer area to fire from.

MOVE FORWARD LADS!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My siege tower.

The bridge had to lower...

Overall of the different levels

The winch locks like so...

Floor number one

Floor number two

Packed full of Orks

The bridge is really strong and can hold quite a few figures at a time.

The tower separates into all these pieces. Because I was low on brown pieces I had to build it out of 'Dark grey' though I think it turned out pretty good.

The whole army together.

Justin Saber-Scorpion Stebbins: Funny thing is: My brother and I built these after playing Age of Empires II a wee bit too much!

Nice job! The armor plating thingies on the roof of the battering ram remind me of Age of Empires II. Boy, I love that game...

Very nice. I personally like the siege tower. The roof on the battering ram is interesting... It gives it an original texture that I assume was intentional. The little wooden walls are great, too. All around, very well done!

I used to have a huge fetish for these machines, I guess I still kinda do. Great work on all of them. I think my favorite part is the mottled roof of the battering ram. They all look like so much fun to drive around and hit things with. You should definitely build a diorama of the monsters in action.

Very cool. I like how realistic this looks. The vehicles also look very durible. My favorite is the battering ram. I think the roof is really well made especially the animal skins on top. Check out my siege force if you get the chance.
