How did I calculate the scale of it all? For those of you who like simple maths, I estimated a mini-fig's height to be about 1.8 meters tall. The Slave I had a length of 21.5 meters so it takes about 12 mini-figs stacked on top of each other to get the length. But rather than stack up mini-figs to get the length I measured a mini-fig to be about five LegoŽ studs long. So the length came out at sixty studs long. Same work for the width and height.

For getting the lengths of different parts or sections right I had an image of the ship for that. I would measure the length of the section in centimeters, divide that by the length of the whole ship in centimeters and then multiply it by 60 (the length in studs of the whole ship) to get the length (in studs) of that particular part.

Some nice SNOT work around the whole ship to try and give it the same look as the real thing. I used up most of my good hinges on that ship...

Jango Fett and Boba in the cockpit. Sorry for the quality of some of the pictures. I haven't gotten used to reducing the glare from the flash (they were taken at night) and I had some problems with focusing the camera... The actual scale of the cockpit is supposed to include the dark gray pieces around it, but I had no transparent slopes that I could have used in place of the dark gray slopes.

The cockpit section can be removed from the ship quite easily. It's held in place with 2 sets of magnets, so it sticks pretty tightly with the rest of the ship.

In the top right of the ship in this picture is one of the hidden ion cannons. The bed is on hinges with some supports for it, so that it can be moved 90° for flight mode and stay that way.

I've removed the deck for this photo. It's also connected by magnets to the engine room. In the center of the picture is the compartment for the seismic charges.

Unfortunately I didn't have enough space or pieces to create and place nine seismic charges. Jango will have to survive with only four.

They both rotate 90° for flight but are not connected to the cockpit unlike the LegoŽ version of Jango's Slave I.

The entrance with door closed. It's a bit of a pity that all my sand green slopes consist of the few pieces that I had from the original version.

I had a lot of trouble with the landing ramp. Originally I had wanted it to slide in and out like it does in the movie. The problem was that I couldn't design one that would do it, and be compact enough to fit in the front without giving the ship a big ugly bulge.

I finally settled on a design that had the top ramp like a cover to the lower part of it. You lift the cover up and then pull up the bottom part of the ramp on hinges, rotate it 180° on the turret and then lower it down and put the cover part down.

Here, the ion cannon is sticking out of the side. If you look at the picture of the ion cannon from the inside, you should be able to see a black tube running to it. That tube ended up acting like a spring, keeping the cannon hidden until you pull it out, and hiding when you let it go.

The short range blaster cannons rotate 360° but cannot be pointing towards the end of the nose section when the torpedo hatches are opened.

The hidden proton torpedoes slide out like they do in the movie. However, in order to fit the two sections of three torpedoes each in, I had to overlap them so that they sort of overlap each other rather than being side by side.

The seismic charge launcher is held in by a rubberband to spring-load it. The seismic charges that you saw in the engine room are connected to the deployment mechanism. One of the frustrating parts of creating it was that I had initially begun building it at the bottom of the ship like the LegoŽ model did. I had to redesign and move it to the middle when I watched them deploy in the Star Wars movie.
