This request came from someone called Garret Shisler. He asked for an American Style Xalos. I'm British, so I'm not about to do that, but I DID have this nifty little LEGO flag. After some research I found out it was the flag for the Netherlands (one of LEGO's home countries - figures), so I constructed Xalos in red, white and blue to honour his ancestry. I even managed to include the flag on the MOC itself =] Oh! And check out "Netherlands National Anthem" on YouTube. Compared to most other National Anthems the Netherlands is surprisingly nice to listen to.
His construction started around the time I bought the entire Mistika collection (minus gliders and turrets) In one fell swoop. Takanuva, Onua and Krika were the most helpful here methinks.
The whole body is based on 2 Matoran bodies attached at an angle onto Krika's breastplate. His legs are like mini versions of Takanuva's legs.
Here is his halberd this time. This is why he's called Rocket Xalos - his rocket powered polearm.
I figured an elemental halberd would be much more devastating with booster rockets on the sides - able to peirce much tougher armour. Also, if you but the Bohrok eyes ointing skyward, and remove the 1X1 cylinders, you get what looks like a little Athenean Owl on a stick.
The back. The red Rahkshi foot is a bit brighter and shinier than the rest of the red parts, but I don't own any other parts that work here so oh well.
Here is his Disk launcher, complete with mini flag. Some would say it's a French flag, but France's flag is the other way up, with blue on top.
Here are the legs. The ankles are a bit weak, but Xalos is so light it doesn't really matter.
