Have you ever wanted sails but didn't know how to make them? Well this is sure to help.
About this creation
These are the supplies you will need.
Step 1: Put the mast on the piece of construction paper you selected and trace around the sail supports.
Step 2: Cut out the sail and round the edges with your scissors.
Step 3: Draw circles where you want the holes to be. Note: Make sure that they line up with the mast supports and aren't too close to the edge of the sail.
Step 4: Use your hole puncher to make the holes were your circles were.
Step 5: Put the sail on to make sure that everthing fits.
Step 6: Add decorations!
You can also trace sails you already have to make custom sails that are the same shape and size as the offical Lego sails.
Nice but i usually don't use patterned sails- because of historical accuracy- it wasn't really common during the golden age of piracy- spanish galleons had some crosses and lions and stuff but pirates usually didn't- it was because they can cheat other ships with changing the flag- first fly english flag etc. and then suddenly hoist the jolly roger and attack -changing sails would have been very hard and all who see ship with skull in the sails would flee and pirates won't get nothing -if their ship aren't fast enough to catch fleeing merchants.... LOLZ i was getting boring with a history lesson -but nice sails so thanks for the idea...
thanks for the comment and your right i dont own any ship or pirate sets either but soon i will due to those new sets! but thispage of yours has proven to be a lot of help and i plan to use it a lot more often.
Nice skull. I tried some of that paper jam on toast but it was awful. Too dry. You might be able to run that construction paper through a printer if you are like me and can't draw. Good tip. see ya. garth
construction paper ay ? nice sails, I'm searching the right material to make black sails with holes (like the black pearl)
interesting, anyway, good job
The reason for construction paper and not cloth is because construction paper is cheaper and easier to cut and decorate. Check out the Avenger and Acadia to see my custom sails in use.
