Hogwarts Entry and Great Hall
Entry and Great Hall of Hogwarts Castle
About this creation

First, I must say that I was inspired by Miss Mary Potter's Great Hall . It was one of the first MOC's I had ever seen.

I added the entry hall so that the MOC is more in keeping with the movies than the books. I modified the front from LEGO® - 4757 - Hogwarts™ Castle (Prisoner of Azkaban) and added the suit of armor from LEGO® - 5378 - Hogwarts™ Castle (Order of the Phoenix). The chandelier is modified from the one found here. The hall will be on the left side of the castle and will open onto the main staircase hall similiar to the movies.

The roof hinges on the outside wall to allow inside access. The hall itself has two fireplaces with ghosts inside (LEGO® says they are Peeves but he was colorful and these aren't so in my MOC they are ghosts) from LEGO® set - 4709 - Hogwarts™ Castle. I added the sorting wheel from LEGO® set 4701 - Sorting Hat so the near wall wouldn't be so blank. The "floating" candles can be replaced with pumpkins for Halloween.

The hour glasses are on the far wall and correspond to the House table setup. To also indicate the tables the cups on each table reflect the house colors (I made my first overseas Bricklink purchase to get green cups because apparently no one has them here in the US (go figure)). Professors Sprout and Flitwick are custom minifigs from Harry Potter Brickhead.

Quoting adam lapallo That is really impressive! It looks just like the movie! If I may ask a question, how the heck did you make that link to Mary Gober's Great Hall? I've tried making links a thousand times, but they kept just directing me to the homepage.
I used a simple html link in the page code. Be sure to enter the full url for the page (e.g. "http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/26924"; for Miss Mary Potter's Great Hall)

Very nice creation- i'm not great Potterfan but this still impressed me- floating candles are nice -but maybe just clear orange stud instead of big flame(new little flames could do also -but they aren't very common yet)- now fire looks too... wild, but hall is great .Excellent work !

Doors are for entry hall (outside) they are the large doors from the clock tower. The Great Hall doors are smaller.

It looks more like the Notre Dame Cathedral. I'm not French, but that's what I think, so stay with it!

The interior is the best I have EVER seen. You are really good at staying true to the book. The only problem is that the exterior is way under the level of the interior. Try improving the exterior and you will be the best Harry Potter builder on MOCpages.

Nice looking interiors here. I too have been dissatified with real sets and perfer to have the solid walls. Have fun making more Harry Potter scenes. It woefully under represented here on MOCpages. The current castle sets are great for parts to build Harry Potter. see ya. garth
