About this creation
When the apocalypse struck, humans had to adapt quick or die. Those who chose the former needed ways to ensure their survival by creating new ways to outwit, outrun and outlive everything nature threw at them. Many civilians, particularly those with mechanical skill, built interesting inventions out of whatever they could find. One such machine was William Thorpe's Rail Bike.
During his civilian life, Mr. Thorpe work on ranch repairing machinery when things broke down. No tractor, combine or truck was beyond his repair. When the world went down the tubes, the ranch became a safe zone, thanks to the strong fence and ample supply of animals to eat. But after a particularly terrible siege, Thorpe decided that he would build a special vehicle to escape with should the stronghold ever fall.

Funny looking thing, innit? Billy built his Rail Bike it out of a snowmobile, a motorcycle and part of a washing machine. The Rail Gun was salvaged from a crashed Recon jeep used by some raiders. Where they found the rare and dangerous cannon is unknown. A special trigger next to the clutch fires the weapon.

Here's Mr. Thorpe himself, riding his hybrid bike. "Wouldn't having the explosion from cannon right next to your ear be painful?" you ask? Well, the rail gun uses supercharged mag-coils to accelerate rail rounds (or sticks of rebar) through a target instead of a gunpowder ignition system. Therefore, where there is the report from the gunpowder exploding in a normal gun, there would only be the hum of the mag-coils on a rail gun.

It makes sense if you can get past all the big words.

The ski sleds are great for cruising over sand and dirt, and they clear the path of anything that might puncture the back tire.

Here's William Thorpe, the owner of this bizarre bike. Hmm... where have I seen that guy before...

Because I like to use Photoshop.

Heck, yeah! Can't get enough of creations like this. The rider might sooner or later become deaf, though.
