5) Legoland March 2005
The fifth stage in the development of the harbourside city of Legoland.
About this creation
A recent relocation to a new house created some major upheaval for the city of Legoland. However, rather than pulling out my last few precious hairs in frustration, I used the move as an excellent excuse to redevelop large sections of the city and shift it onto a larger table.

The city no longer faces one street - it now incorporates a second road, creating two blocks. There are several new buildings. One of the other main features of the new city is the raised footpaths - no more bright green pavements in downtown Legoland.

As you will have noticed, I still haven't found a decent name for the city. The search continues...

The police station has been expanded to include a driveway through to the car park.

A new office building has sprung up beside the police station. I quite like the new footpaths.

The service station is still nestled beside the heritage-listed fire station.

A train awaits unloading at the docks across the road from the police station and historic customs building.

   The bustling main street.

The side street leading down to the sloped roof of the new cafe

The side of the new office building, with a bakery on the ground level; a McDonald's; and the side of the ambulance station.

   ...and the western end.

The car park and interior of the police station, with the roof removed.

   Inside the sparsly decorated McDonald's

The rear court yard behind the cafe in the ground floor of the building behind the service station.

   Another new cafe.

The old fire station - the one constant in a changing cityscape.

The new hospital with enclosed ambulance bays in the foreground and a ramp leading up to the helipad. It looks suspiciously like one of the cafes in the city's previous layout. Hmmm...

Some vehicles could be improved with new bricks, but still this whole layout deserves 5/5. It is just beautiful

Lego building at its best. You are very good. Great vehicles while the buildings are perfect ;)

Hey, Joel. Thanks for what you said about my city. I chuckled when I checked yours out and read the message on your home page. Funny how once you start there really is no looking back. Your city is amazing. Great spread and I love the detail. The dock area is particularly impressive. Truly great work. I look forward to updates.

Excellent work! I like the style of this town, very similar to the 80's - early 90's sets. I wish I had enough space to build a town like this... :)

What a great little town. The best part is the police station is right next to the harbor so they can go harass those megablock importers.
