rE-Wing
About this creation
This is definatly my least favorite and is one of those models that I should have given up on. The final product was not how I had intended -- and is one of the few instances where I did not do a complete design phase before construction. In fact I had the nose section and wings on paper but the rest I improvised as I went along and I think it really shows.
It is not supposed to be an E-Wing in the strict sence, but more of a modified version built for long recon missions. The engines are not under the wings because if the E-Wing was a real spacecraft the engine placement would cause considerable problems-- that is they are not positioned at or near the vertical center of mass which in space flight would cause the ship to lear a bit up. Anyway I though it looked a little too cluttered on the wings and moved them up to the fuselage.
If anybody is curious about the construction of his model check out this link to see photos taken at various stages of assembly.

Again, amazing work! You are easily the grand master of smooth slopes. You should use that kinda techniqie to build something massive. I can't believe I didn't see your moc's before. |

As I said before, your models are truly inspiring. I'm very surprised that you say this is one of your least favorite ships. I like this one at least as much as the X-Wing on your main page. The colors on the X-Wing are a little more vibrant, but on the other hand the gray and blue has a very cool classic space feel to it. I also really like your choice of scale. I've seen these larger LEGO figures in books but haven't come across them myself--minifigs were in full force when I started. It's neat because it's similar in feel to the minifig scale but gives you just a little more room to add some more detail. Anyway, thanks very much for sharing! -N. |

Hello Brently, I can't help but think that I was very unreasonable on rating your creations. I also feel the need to apologize for my recent actions. You see, I am a teenager, and some of my comments may be a bit, well, rude. Your creations are very skillful, and I am sorry I did not see this earlier. I hope that we can reach a truce in the near future. - Tom Olivieri
P.S: What is an E-Wing? Is it like, some sort of smuggler ship, or is it rebellion? |

Woooow ! On every angle, the fantastic shape is a pleasure for the eyes. You definetely one of the best for difficult SNOT shapes. The ship is classical in a way, but it's so well done that it became amazingly beautiful. Great work, and thanks for your comment !

Well...i dont know how this can be the one you like least of all because i think it is quite amazing (like all of your ships in general!)
By the way It is quite unusual to see a spacer using technic guys as pilots;)
(my spacie scale makes me able to put about 40 people in 1 stud) you may wanna check my escort carrier and hospital ship (wenn i ll release it) to see what i m talking about)
Anyway, one little regret is that your ships lack a bit of funky colors! but this still diserves an excellent grade! |

This is without a doubt one of the sweetest ships I have ever seen. It may not be accurate, but who cares! George Lucas has screwed up Star Wars so much, that there's no purpose making accurate models anyways. Keep up the good work. |

Forget planning, this thing turned out absolutely outstanding anyway! I for one am glad you didn't give up on it. It may not be an accurate E-Wing, but the Recon E-Wing is one cool ship. So big and so smooth... just fun to look at. |
