Engine 29 is stationed in the new downtown station 3. This station has taken over reponsibility for all calls within high rise buildings and all calls within the downtown area of Kedalpoint. Engine 29 operates this Pierce arrow XT rescue pumper (Also with the fire departments new paint scheme)
Engine 29 is used by the High Rise Response Team. These firefighters are all trained paramedics as well as firefighters. The equiptment carried by this pumper is used mainly for structure fires and medical emergencies in high rise buildings this equipment includes:
-6 bottle cascade system
-Ventilation fan
-4 550 watt lights
-Traffic cones
-10 ft ground ladder
-2500 gpm pump
-300ft of 2 1/2in attack line
-8ft of 5in intake line
-20ft of 2in attack line in bundles for carrying up a high rise
-Hard hats and pro-tec repelling helmet
-60ft rope on winch
-tools for opening a hydrant
-K12 Saw
-Advanced Life Support Equipment
-monitor water cannon

i see i never commented on this so i figured i would respond to your question about the box and comment on this fine piece of machinery! to answer your question, i am not sure what fdny carries in the boxes, but i would imagine its stuff like foam canisters, speedy dry, you know stuff thats bulky, you dont need at every call, and can get in the way.
