Blacktron Planetary Hauler
A throw back to the '80s with a classic addition to the Blacktron fleet.
About this creation
I've always been a big fan of the classic Blacktron sets and recently I've been rebuilding some "lost" sets, including the Blacktron Battrax, and I decided to add to design my own Blacktron vehicle. I am not trying to make a Blacktron III set, rather am trying to make a set that would look right at home with the old sets. With that, I used classic techniques and kept the design clean while using relevant colors. It's still a work-in-progress as I have to order some yellow grille pieces and possibly change the design a bit. But for now, I am happy with the results!

This front view shows the sensor array and asymmetrical design. I was inspired by the heavy plane movers at the airport.

Rear view showing the engine vents and taillights.

My original design had the yellow lights square, but I think that all round look very intersting too.

Side view where the cargo doors are visible. I wanted to create a very low profile and keep the center of gravity between the wheels. I am also deciding between the "fence" panel or solid panels for the driver's compartment below the windscreen.

Partial load in the deepest part of the cargo area. There is still additional room towards the front.

Of course, the Pineapple Express is always ready to ship whatever, whenever!

I hope you like it and please comment!

Quoting J0N0TR0N1C SYSTEMS This is very cool. I like the asymmetrical design and the large cargo area. Overall shape and colors are nice too. Have to agree w/ Topsy down there. Needs a little trans-red and would seal off the drives compartment, but that's just my poison-gas phobia talking...
Thanks for the comments! I chose the fence panels just as an experiment to see how they would look, but I think you and Topsy are right that solid panels would fit better with the closed in design.

I like this, nice and compact. The offset canopy is a nice touch giving it an asymmetrical look.

Ha! This is too cool. I've been trying to get my hands on one of those windscreens so I'm fairly jealous when I see someone with one... Those wheels looks great as well. I love that the Pineapple Express is delivering for Blacktron!

Blacktron I was always my favourite space theme. I'd personally go for the solid fence for the driver's compartment. I'd add a little trans red here and there too. Good day

I have very little knowledge about Blacktron, but this would fit with most of what I have seen.

Very nice ! Like you I love old Blacktron sets, and your design has the same spirit. Just one thing: the official color scheme doesn't include trans-clear, but include trans-red. Anyway it's a cool MOC !
