Since I was in the Legacy neighborhood, I decided to make this lovely little X-wing placeholder from Legacy Volume 1: Broken and Vector Part 4. It seemed like a fairly simple build, nice, angular and generally LEGO compatible. So I decided to try something a little unusual and build most of it an odd number of studs wide, which dumped out a whole new bucket of bricks. I admit I truncated the fuselage a bit and the wing detailing isn't up to par (cursed deficiency of yellow bricks) but the nose section was no picnic. Even now it looks rather holey and the inside is hardly first-class. All in all, not a bad MOC though. Now, about the ship itself: She's a craft employed by the New Jedi Order around 140 ABY, not unlike how Stealth Xs were trademark Jedi ships before them. There is the obvious of laser cannons and the less than obvious missile launchers mounted around the black section of the nose. She is easily portable, hosts a single pilot, and seems to be short range--but don't quote me on that. Cade Skywalker flew this ship against Imperial Predator-Class fighters during the Sith attack on Ossus, though he was outnumbered, outmaneuvered, and shot down. Seven years later, Cade's Jedi friend, Shado Vao, would fly the ship in an attack on Had Abbadon in hopes to draw Sith usurper Darth Kryat into Cade's trap.
Please excuse the lousy Cade minifigure, I'm no minifigure artist. Reference images compliments of Darkhorse.com and the trade paperback of Broken.
And here's the rear landing gear.
Here's how it measures up to the official TIE Bomber and minifigure.
