RedTail air-racer
About this creation
This is a futuristic air racing plane. It is at home equality in low orbit or in an atmosphere.

The overall shape is not terribly aerodynamic, hence the straight wings; but I was thinking that with insanely powerful engines, overall aerodynamic needs maybe set aside for emphasis on strength. Anyway you try making realistic swoop back wings with Lego! I sure as heck can't.
Anyway when I was thinking about this model last weekend I wanted a model that would be reminiscent of the good old GeeBee "Z" Model
racer of the 30's.

Hope you like it!

Hopefully in this picture the scale of the plane is illustrated.

With the engine removed you can see the box structure of the wing framework. Makes for a very strudy model.

Bad landing? No just sitting on the engine cowlings to show the underside details.

Love it! The fact that you modeled a futuristic GeeBee Model Z Supersporster is just awesome. Great build and congrats on MOTD.

I like it! I could never make something that good out of just extra Lego peices and no instruction booklet!

Wicked cool! Reminds me of a cross between a Naboo Starfighter and a rebel A-Wing. Really great, good work!

GeeBees are my favorite air racers of all time! Excellent build of the lineage's benefactor!! I think you made an excellent air foil! Congrats on MoTD!!

Impressive! That's not an easy construction you've used there. I love the smoothness of your Air-racer. I think a pattern on the wings would look great, maybe just a sticker? ~M

Awesome work on this. looks like an earthbound belbulab-22 (greivous starfighter). Very impressed with the box structure. as someone currently attempting to employ that in superstructure design, it can be more than a bit tricky, but you do it very well.

the fact that stuff like this cannot be found easily disappoints me. this is amazing.

It stuns me that amazing things like this just fade into the dark little corners of MOCpages. I mean, I've been browsing around here for a couple months now, and I only happened upon this gem by chance. The wing is obviously the standout on this MOC, and it's great. I love the whole design and aspect of this racer. Keep it up!

Your stuff is all really good, but why in the world do you build in technic scale?

A very sleek look is bestowed on this racer. It looks like something we all could be seeing in the future.

Very offworldly design.. The wing is fantastic and brought me to climax. The engine detail is wicked, love that the back of them is even with the trailing edge. Nicely done! Cheers! ~ Paul.

I really like this, the effort is awesome and the design is tight. But I gotta say that drooping aerodynamics for engines is unforgivable! Anyway, your landing gear is really awesome. Do they reract? If so please send some display or something of how they work. I need some new design on my Jets.

Your mocs are so smooth they don't look like lego anymore! I know people who use greebles as an excuse for not making smooth turns, slopes, and joints, but you are one of a kind!

Very nice, classic race plane look with a spacey feel. Saw the other pics on Brickshelf--Extremely impressive as always :)
