Peterbilt 379 day cab
1:17 scale peterbilt 379 day cab
About this creation

This is my Peterbilt 379 day cab. Its a scale 1:17, and is fully detailed. the truck has full suspension that is closely modeled after a real truck. the front suspension is a solid axle with Pittman arm steering just like a real truck. It has HOG steering, in which I disguised the steering input as the drive shaft. The truck is built on a stud less technic frame. The engine a CAT C-15 is also fully detailed. This is now the third time I have rebuilt this truck. I was studying pictures of peterbilts to see what I could improve, and figured out that the cab was two studs too wide. That may not sound like much, but the whole cab had to be rebuilt. I now think that I have perfected it. The truck is built to be able to pull a heavy (relatively)trailer too. the rear suspension can hold 6 pounds with ease, and is as simpe as possible. the bowl in the picture weighs about 6 pounds

Quoting Rolands Kirpis Exterior - 5, Interior - 3 (seats and steer looks too big to me) Quality - 5 All in all - impressive. With skills you showed there - you should step up to 1:13, where you could easily add more details, more functional elements
I would but I dont have the right size tires. And the ones I would need are even too hard to get on bricklink.

Quoting Riley Duff This is great! Way better than any of the Lego Model Team sets. Did you get schematics/measurements and calculate how big everything needs to be for the scale? I'll have to improve my truck some...
nope, no schematics. I just looked at a picture of one and started building

What, have you been hangin' out with Firas? (That can only lead to trouble!) Beautiful job! Great color work, form, detail...it's got it all. Nicely done!
