Design details & Wildlife info

African Savanna Elephants
(Loxodonta africana africana)

Scale 1:25 (Lego Belville scale).

The shape and size of the ears are characteristic for Savanna elephants.

Female elephant

She's 3 meter tall & her weight is 4000 kilogram. Bulls (male elephants) are even larger...

Notice the huge round belly of this mature herbivore. She eats 200 kilo of grass and leaf each day!

The elephants back bone and shoulder bones are clearly visible.

The skin color of these elephants is grey. The skin of elephants fits the color of the ground they live on, as they cover themselves with sand and mud.

Elephant calf

He's is just 1 year old.

It will take a few years before he will get his ivory tusks.

African Acacia tree

Elephant Birds (Bubulcus Ibis):

These birds often travel with elephants to catch insects and small animals.

Kenian Sunset

Quoting Kerri Yudkovitch I would love these elephants but can't get the directions to come up.
Hello Kerri, Do you mean that you can't download the building instructions? I just tried myself. At my computer it is still working. So I don't know how to solve this for you. Good luck!

Quoting Omotenium _ Just excellent! I've had a project in mind to build animals using just basic bricks, but I need to buy more parts. This is a great example of how it can be done.
Hi Omotenium, Thankx! The challenge was indeed to create a MOC mainly with basic bricks. And only with bricks from the Lego Design by Me collection.

Hi All, Thankx for your nice comments!

GR, Benjamin

So cute and realistic too. I believe that if you could add some landscape it would be even greater. Cheers, Tânia

Very cute, your elephant. You are very creative - making an elephant out of egos in that scale sounds pretty challenging to me... Thank you for the great comment on my road train!:) It is a fantasy road train! I just made it up after having seen a documentation about road trains in TV. They have some on the Alaska Highway, too, I think. In Australia, though, road trains usually aren´t connected like mine (I made drawbar trailers), but with one platform of wheels used for each trailer and the following one (don´t know how it´s called for sure, but I think it´s B-double). Anyways, thanks again! Best regards, Steffen

Very well done, particularly given the limits of studs. Nice topic selection as well, a bit out of the ordinary guns and whatnot.
