Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina
About this creation
Model of the American flying boat from the World War II period, used in the Pacific theater.
Built in about 1:33 scale in black with "scraped" paint areas in dark gray. Depicts a Catalina from one of the "Black Cats" squadrons doing bomb and rescue missions, operating mostly at night.

Nice model! The PBY is a personal favourite of mine and your version is excellent. I'm glad you made it in black too: the Black Cat prowls the night skies!

A very graceful aircraft. I agree with Michael, black is looking really good here. You also took great pictures, something that isn´t quite easy with dark creations. Love those wires, too, that go from the wing to the tail. In reality, do they exist for stability reasons or even for the controls? Steffen

Excellent! There was already an excellent PBY on Brickshelf but at a bigger scale. I would see yours in blue rather than in black.
