Loosely based on a CAT brand loader. I built it I while ago, but just bought a camera yesterday. Two XL motors, 6 rams.
About this creation
I'll most likely take the pneumatic parts off this thing and replace with 2 linear actuators and a log grapple. Even with 4 handpumps (w/out springs) powered by two XL motors via the lego train power regulator the rams still aren't very strong, or precise. The long black hoses are from ilego on eBay-great stuff. This machine is geared a little lower than my red tractor, so it's pretty stout at pulling/pushing. Thanks for looking!!

How were you able to connect two separate pneumatic pistons to each other on the main arm?
It's part number 4267463. You can get them at bricklink.com |

Man I drove a CAT 953 when I worked excavation. Your model is spot on. It looks like I could climb in right now and turn the motor over. Excellent, how long did it take you to design and build roughly?
I spent probably a week on the chassis.....getting the geometry right for the cylinder that tips the bucket was a pain though. |

Very nice MOC! I like CAT machines too! It looks very realistic with the pneumatics. |

how do you make the wheels
The rear wheels? =the cogs from the 8275 bulldozer, and a round 2x2 with the smooth plate on top. Let me know if this is what you're asking about, thanks. |

d, upon reading that your pneumatics aren't very strong, and the pumps you're using, may i suggest using 2 small pumps out of phase running off pulleys and 24 tooth gear, please see my page for pictures and details. please also see this website: http://www.fifth-r.com/cssoh1/compress.htm
Ahh, I'll have to try it with smaller pumps.(No tengo) Those radial compressors are quite impressive. Thanks for the tip!
