WWI Bomber
Another period piece plane by me. Please exuse me ef you find the organisation of the page somewhat unorthodox. I find that uploading the pictures can be quite confusing...
About this creation
Ummm... this was made quite a while before now, like most of my posts are, and I resent that now because I can't write as much commentary as I would like. Sorry. However, I'm pretty sure that I was inspired by some Miyazaki films (Porco Rosso) and/or some web browsing on the usual material. Gotta love that Miyazaki.

Here's a picture of the nose which houses what is supposed to depict an early style of a plane mounted turret. I forget what it's called, but it was neat.

This is where it started, the wing. I was just fooling around, developing some new engine techniques. There was an aim, however, to make a futile attempt at a WWI bomber. I didn't expect it to work out though! (Also, this is probably the best shot of the wing supports, something I should've taken more shots of.)

A shot at the back, where you can see the fuselage, and more of the engines.

More engine shots.

I love the way these turned out, if you can't tell

Just to show they can clear the ground

Landing gear, which I must say, turned out kind of akward. It'll pass though.

Here's the tail. I tried to incorporate all the WWI bomber stereotypes and oddities, like the box tail. Not too bad.

Some little aviators I put inside.

I would put some editted pictures here, but I don't feel like trial and erroring my way through Microsoft paint to get a decent picture. Just imagine this plane in the air, or even a nostalgic black and white picture, yeah? Put that imagination to work !

Good bye for now, and don't hold your breath

EDIT* I've noticed that this bomber is very similar to David's Gotha bomber, at the time that I was building mine, I hadn't seen it, so I'm sorry if it seems like plagarism.

Wow, you are an excellent aircraft builder! Not too many people build WWI, refreshing to see that you're also good at it! Keep it up!

Quoting Eric Starr Very nice! So few people build WWI aircraft and even fewer build the bombers! Looks like a Handley Page bomber to me...is it? Very nice attention to detail!
Thanks! It is actually a conglomeration of what I thought went into a WWI bomber, so I guess you COULD say I was inspired by HP

Cool stuff. WWI is not a very common subject among Lego builders.
