The Other Shannon - Act I: The Betrayal
Otherwise known as "The Completely Fictitious, Extremely Long, Pointless, and Ultimately Inconclusive Adventures of SigOcean Figgy."
About this creation
"Mister Young, We have Mister Ocean preparing to beam in."
"About time. Beam him up, Scotty!"
"Wow, that never gets old, sir."
"Good, because I'm going to keep on doing it, smart guy."

*beaming sound*

"Shannon? That's my name!"
"I thought I was the only one!"
"A pain I know all too well."
"So this is what it feels like when doves cry!"

"The thing I'm looking forward to most while I'm in town is seeing Mt. Rainier! We don't have real mountains in Australia, you know."
"Well, you can see it off in the distance no problem -- unless it's cloudy. I'm not taking you there, if that's what you mean."

"Oh. Then what about the ocean? We have to go to the ocean, right? I'm Shannon OCEAN!"
"You'd think so... but no."

"I see... How about the Olympic Rain Forest?"
"Mmmmm... no."
"Orca spotting on Puget Sound?"
"No."

"Salmon fishing?"
"No."
"Space Needle, at least?"
"No."

"You're supposed to be showing me the sights. What the f*** are we doing while I'm in town?!"
"I thought I'd take you on a tour of The Skunk Works instead."
*mutters under his breath* "Oh you've gotta be f***ing kidding me..."

"Young, if The Skunk Works is just these endless corridors, then this tour just plain sucks."
"Oh, there's more -- a lot more. You need a Level 5 Security Clearance to see the really good stuff."

"So do I get a Level 5 Security Clearance?"
"Of course not. Don't be ridiculous."
"God, I walked right into that one, didn't I?"
"Yes, you did."

"Smeagol, my friend, what you need is a drink."
"You got that right, mate."
"All right then. To the Spaceman Lounge! You ever had an Alien Abduction?"

"Here we are, the Spaceman Lounge. Just tell Robo the bartender whatever you want, he'll plug it into his computer, and it will pop out of this compartment."
"Anything I want, eh? We'll see about that... All right then, I'll have a brandy -- a cognac, Napoleon Grande Champagne 1811 Reserve."
"...COMING... RIGHT... UP... SIR."

"Brandy?! Ooooh, la di da, mister French man! Robo, I'll have a Screaming Viking."
"...THERE... IS... NO... DRINK... BY... THAT... NAME... IN... MY... DATABASE... SIR."
"Oh, never mind, it was a joke. Probably nobody gets that reference anyway..."

"Mr. Young? Sorry to interrupt, but --"
"Zaius, I'm glad you're here, there's someone I'd like you to meet. Shannon Ocean, Zaius. Zaius, Shannon Ocean."

"Oh, hello."
"G'day, mate."

"Mr. Young, there really is -- wow, he actually said 'G'day mate' -- there really is something you need to know. The ninjas and the pirates are fighting again."
"WHAT? They're supposed to be kept separated at all times!"
"Yes, but somehow they saw each other, and... well, you know how they are."

"Damn! They'll tear the whole complex apart if I don't step in. Sorry Smeagol, you'll have to excuse me, I need to take care of this. I'll be right back -- in the meantime, the spacemen will keep you company. All right, let's go Zaius, and have the Corporate Military guys meet us there..."

Poor Ocean is left standing there, but as soon as Young and Zaius are out of sight, one of the spacemen sidles up.

"Mr. Ocean, it's an honor to meet you, sir. You don't know how long we spacemen have waited for this moment."
"Oh, uh... thanks."
"We'll follow you anywhere, sir. At last the revolution can begin! Death to Young!"
"Yeah, right on... wait, what?"

"You've come to free us from that awful tyrant and take us with you to Australia!"
"Whoa... now I think there's been a misunderstanding..."
"You can't imagine how cruel he is! He stuffs us in a crowded Ziploc bag and leaves us in there for months and months at a time! He never builds us any ships! He constantly makes fun of our age! We just know you'll appreciate us!"

"He can't be that bad. After all, you've got this nice lounge, don't you?"
"It's a sham! Just a Potemkin Village!"
"What?"
"He built it specifically for your visit! He'll tear it down as soon as you leave! Then it's back in the bag we go! Please take us with you!"

As a thoroughly addicted AFOL, Ocean can not resist the prospect of growing his own Lego collection, even at the cost of a friendship with Other Shannon. It isn't long before he agrees to lead the spaceman mutiny. With lavish promises to build them all manner of spaceships and rovers and bases, he ensures their undying loyalty.

"Gentlemen, let us drink to La Revolución!"
"Death to Young! Death to Young!"

Oh no! It's mutiny at The Skunk Works! Shanno and Shanno mano a mano! Will the treacherous Ocean and his cadre of Classic Space goons succeed? Will the haughty Young get the comeuppance due a poor host? Be sure to tune in next time for another time-killing episode of The Other Shannon to find out!

There's something strangely familiar about all those hallway signs near the beginning, but I can't quite put my finger on it... I've always enjoyed this series, and if imitation is the highest form of flattery, then consider yourself worshipped!

This is incredibly funny. You still hold my place as favorite builder for many reasons, the first being that you have so many awesome characters from different MOCs.

I want to thank everyone who's left a positive comment -- a bit of ego-stroking is just what I need to get motivated and inspired to actually finish this thing. A word of warning to those of you who complained about the language, though -- you might want to avert your eyes during the raunchy sex scenes that will appear in Acts II and III. I'm not kidding.

[5/5] This is the greatest thing that I have ever seen in my whole entire life!!! The sets are done perfectly, and the random signs gave me a laugh! The lounge counter is very clever. I cant' believe you store your classic spacemen: they're so cute! I wish I had one... However, I don't really appreciate the language, even if it's censored. Either or, great comic! cant wait for the next one! -Dax

Oh, stink. I forgot. I have a MOCRPG to build, don't I? And all I'm doing is sitting around building trashy Indiana Jones MOCs. I'll get back to that. Sorry. I really like this thing. Especially the pirates VS. ninjas. Not only was that hilarious, but you need to show it to us. This MOC is great. I think I'll add you to my favorites list...

Fun and thoroughly entertaining! (My only complaint is the bit of bad language). I really enjoyed the rest of it; the action in the halls, the different signs at every turn, the coup (every good MOC needs one of those! ;)), very enjoyable MOC Mr. Young :)

My god, what was the worst cliffhanger since Pirates of the Caribbean 2. And then, by the next act, something is going to go screwy. Don't disappiont your main fanbase- pre-puberescent middle and elementry school students.

Genuinely brilliant : ) I hardly noticed the great building techniques (like the space-man bar) as the story was so good! Poor spacemen forever doomed to watch the world through a plastic bag. At least mine have the company of pirates, knights and Robin Hoods whilst they reside in their plastic tomb. Can't wait for the next episode : )

Terrific sets, Shan! Beautifully presented, too. And I couldn't help but feel a warm sense of nostalgia as references to previous builds were scattered about the facility (Galactic Pimptastic - yeah, best vig EVER!). No snide remarks or attempts at witticisms this time (sorry, maybe later)...just a hats off for a GREAT moc!!!

Wow... I laughed SO hard! I can't wait to see more (there better be more...:D). The opposite signs were great, the story was good, and the build was great. I love the bar-table (I have always wanted to use that for something...). So, what are the chances that those halls were just one thing?

Ocean's not going to build them anything! All he's gonna do is build cyborg racers and use their heads! Warn the spacemen! Warn them NOW! And yeah, sorry to jump on said bandwagon here... but the directional signs were HILARIOUS! Can't wait for the next one! ~ Chris.

I can't help but to think this whole thing is going to end with Act III - The Shannons' Bad Trip. It starts off with you reading a book on shrooms, then a voyage through never ending halls with weird signs and strange people, then you have monkeys running from alligators and fighting ninjas. Of course, it all ends with Ocean in a room full of multi-colored spacemen with the same face, begging for help, and you following a talking monkey. I bet Act II has you guys seeing sounds. Well even if I'm wrong, it was still a good show.
