Kestrel Advanced Attack Gunship
About this creation

I was pretty happy with this design, since it was my first try at having a mini-fig holdable technic ship. The primary inspiration is from those Exo-Force rebuilds where they have some sort of a pod as a cockpit with everything else built around it. The main motivation for this is to try to build something around that hannah crab piece from the Jaller set. It looked pretty neat from looking at it the first time.

Anyway--the KAAG is supposed to be a gunship that can get to the battle-zone quickly (via its high speed mode shown here), and then deploy to unviel a whole load of weapons. (its up to you to interpret whether this is nearfuture or far future. Either works, just think of the far future one with a invisible forcefield to hold in the air and life support :D).

Front picture. There is a main giant machine gun (or laZER), and one sensor (to the left of the ship). The bohrok shield was a quick add on, it was hard to achieve a short of "closed cockpit" feel with technic.

Side Shot. I like this shot the most--it has that nice look (I hope) of the tail slightly higher than the pod, with the whole gunship looking slightly front-heavy.

Back shot. There's "5" tails--the two top ones, one 'claw' acting as a lower fin and two other side fins that unfurl to become gunship mini-wings with more weapons. Ideally the engines and these miniwings provide thrust. (also an excuse to add some sort of "energy weapon" when these miniwings are facing forward)

Bottom view. Can you see the minifig and its lightsaber?

Unfurled wings. Personally, I find the miniwings a bit...distracting, although it gives it a more aggressive, although slower, look. It is much more heavily armed now; probably when it is close to its target.

Bohrok shield rotates to reveal minifig.

Side arms allow the minifig to leave. I was pretty happy that the minifig had a unique way of controlling the ship--from a lying down position.

I think there are several things i should improve:
1. The removal of the minifig is really irritating, its not at all easy, and the side arms sometimes have to be forced to let it in.
2. The center beam holding the front is quite flimsy (could be fixed with another beam maybe)
3.The Hannah crab piece sometimes pushes out.
4. The bohrok shield pushes itself out.
